We love working alongside our students to journal, connect, think deeply, and reflect on who they are and who they’re becoming.

This is a little snapshot of what mentoring sessions can look like with our older students. Creating space for conversation, self-reflection, goal setting, and building confidence in a supportive and trusted environment.

At Think Bright Education, mentoring is about connection first. 💛

Youth mentoring starts with relationships.

Someone to talk to. Someone to share a laugh with. Someone who takes an interest in their world and listens without judgement.

As a team, we’ve learned a lot about supporting young people through our work in education, but also through our own experiences as parents, step-parents, aunties and trusted adults in the lives of young people.

Young people don’t need perfect adults. They need trusted adults.

We’re excited to be growing this area of Think Bright Education and supporting more young people through mentoring, connection and genuine relationships. 💜

Think Bright Education started because I kept meeting young people who needed something different.

Children who were homeschooling. Learning through distance education. Neurodivergent learners. Young people who had lost confidence in school. Kids who didn’t necessarily need more worksheets or more tutoring.

They needed connection.

They needed someone who would take an interest in them, believe in them and help them find their spark again. A mentor. A trusted adult. Someone in their corner.

My own stepchildren have also played a huge part in inspiring this journey and helping me see that every child learns differently.

What began as a few sessions supporting young people has grown into a team of incredible educators supporting children across Australia and beyond.

Every child we work with teaches me something. Every family who trusts us inspires me to keep going.

Something I wish people had told me sooner about starting my own business…
I’d have to show up online and cringe at myself daily. 😂

I thought I’d spend my time supporting students, working with families and creating meaningful learning experiences.

What I didn’t realise was that I’d also need to become a content creator.

🎥 Film the Reel
😬 Watch it back
🙈 Hate my voice
📱 Post it anyway
🫣 Worry about what everyone thinks
📦 Archive it
🤦‍♀️ Unarchive it
😂 Repeat the process over and over

The reality is that most small business owners are just figuring it out as they go. We’re the educator, admin assistant, marketing team, content creator, bookkeeper and everything in between.

And a little reminder… if you see a friend, family member or small business owner showing up online, give them some love. Leave a like, a comment or share their post. It might seem small, but it genuinely means the world when you’re putting yourself out there.

Anyway, excuse me while I try not to archive this Reel. 💜

On Friday evening, I had the pleasure of attending The Success Collective event and hearing from Colleen Callander amongst other amazing guest speakers.✨

It was such a lovely evening filled with honest conversations, inspiring stories and a room full of incredible women.

I always enjoy hearing the real stories behind successful businesses—the challenges, self-doubt, pivots and persistence that often happen behind the scenes.

One of my favourite parts of the night was connecting with other female founders and hearing their journeys.

I started my Sunday reading Colleen’s book, The Power of Confidence which is based on the idea of rewriting your story, backing yourself and moving through self-doubt which really resonates with me. As I hate showing up like this on social media and it’s a real love hate relationship.

Small business life 💜
Come with me, my daughter and her bestie on a Saturday night.

Tonight we drove around our local community putting up posters and sharing Think Bright Education posters with local families.

Behind every program, workshop and opportunity is a lot of hard work, late nights and a village of people cheering you on.

Here’s to spreading the word about our holiday Girls Club and supporting more young people to learn, connect and thrive. ✨
