Another busy week in Prep! 🎉

We celebrated Milo's birthday in style with a dress-up day, fairy bread making and a dance party that had everyone showing off their best moves! 🧚🍞🕺

Our students also enjoyed an AFL footy clinic, organised by Mr S, with the whole school getting involved and having a kick of the footy. 🏉

To top it all off, ES Toni has created an amazing countdown display as we march towards our 100th day of school. Today marks Day 82... only 18 more sleeps to go! 💯🎈

Prep is certainly keeping busy, and we wouldn't have it any other way! ❤️

You might notice that we don’t share photos showing our students’ faces on social media - that's on purpose!

While we love celebrating the wonderful things happening at Springside, we also believe it’s not our place to create a digital footprint for children before they’re old enough to choose one for themselves.

That’s why you’ll often see smiley faces, creative angles, or even AI-generated images used alongside our posts. It’s simply a way we can showcase the joy of school life while keeping student safety and privacy at the centre of everything we do.

Their safety - both in person and online - will always be our priority.

💙💚💛

🚒🎭 What a busy week in Prep! 🎭🚒

Our Prep students had an action-packed week filled with exciting learning experiences. We welcomed our local firefighters, who taught us about fire safety, safe meeting places, and when to call 000. Students loved exploring the fire truck and even had a turn using the fire hose!

We also enjoyed a fantastic puppet show that had everyone engaged, laughing, and learning. These hands-on experiences help bring learning to life and create lasting memories for our youngest learners.

What a wonderful week of fun, learning, and community connections in Prep! ⭐️📚🚒🎭

🎉🌾 The votes are in! 🌾🎉

After weeks of creativity, teamwork and some seriously impressive scarecrow-making skills, the 2026 Year 3 Scarecrow Competition has officially wrapped up!

Every class and staff member had the tough job of voting for their favourite creation, and the winner is... 🥁🥁🥁

🥭👼 **Mango Angel** by **Tango Mango 3E**! 👼🥭

Congratulations to 3E for creating a scarecrow that stole everyone's hearts (and hopefully scared away a few birds too!). A huge well done to all of our Year 3 students for their fantastic effort, imagination and creativity. 🌟👏

🚒🔥 Today, our Prep students had an exciting visit from the firefighters!

Students learnt all about the difference between good fires and bad fires, how firefighters help keep our community safe, and what to do in the event of a fire emergency. They also discussed safe meeting places and practised remembering the emergency number to call – 000.

A special shout-out to ES Lydia, who got fully kitted up in firefighter gear and helped bring the learning to life! 👩‍🚒🧯

The excitement isn't over yet—we can't wait to welcome the firefighters back next week when students will get an up-close look at the fire truck and even have a turn using the fire hose! 🚒💦

Thank you to our visiting firefighters for sharing such important safety messages in such a fun and engaging way.

🐛Pest Control Team 4A reporting for duty! 🐛

4A took their garden responsibilities very seriously this week, successfully tracking down and relocating some very hungry caterpillars. The garden is breathing a little easier, and our student gardeners are feeling very accomplished!

Who knew we had so many expert bug hunters in our midst? 🌱🕵️‍♂️
