Did someone say World Sushi Day? 🍣

Our Pre-Kinder children at Story House Lynbrook had an incredible time celebrating World Sushi Day by creating their very own sushi rolls with cucumber, capsicum, and avocado before enjoying a delicious taste test! 😋

A huge thank you to our amazing cook, Rinkal, for guiding the children through this fun and hands-on culinary experience. It was wonderful to see their creativity, curiosity, and excitement as they learned about different ingredients and practised their food preparation skills.

Nature Photography Day 🌿📸

To celebrate Nature Photography Day, the children at Story House Early Learning Lynbrook ventured out into our local community to explore and capture the beautiful nature all around us.

With iPad’s in hand and curiosity leading the way, the children became nature photographers, slowing down to notice the small details that often go unseen. From colourful flowers and unique leaves to busy insects, towering trees, and interesting cloud formations, the children discovered beauty in every direction.

As we explored, the children eagerly shared their observations, pointed out their favourite natural treasures, and carefully chose what they wanted to photograph. Their excitement and wonder guided our journey, allowing them to take ownership of their learning and follow their interests.

This experience encouraged the children to connect with the natural world, develop their observation skills, and express their creativity through photography. It was wonderful to see the world through their eyes and celebrate the amazing things they captured along the way.

What a fantastic day of exploration, discovery, and appreciation for the nature that surrounds us every day!

Our Nursery bubbas at Story House Early Learning Lynbrook are all about mealtime adventures! From squishing and squashing to tasting and trying, every bite is an exciting new discovery.

🌿🗺️ Exciting Adventures Ahead for Our Kinders! 🗺️🌿

At Story House Lynbrook, we believe that meaningful learning happens when children are actively involved in their experiences and decision-making.

As we prepare to commence our new Nature Play journey in the coming weeks, our Kinder children have been helping us explore and plan for our exciting new destination. Before heading to any new place, it is important that we carefully follow our excursion procedures, map our route, identify potential risks, and ensure everyone stays safe throughout the adventure.

Most importantly, our children's voices are at the heart of this process. Through conversations, discussions, and shared planning, the children are contributing their ideas, questions, observations, and thoughts to our risk assessments and excursion planning. Their perspectives help us create experiences that are engaging, meaningful, and responsive to their interests.

By involving children in these real-life planning processes, we are fostering their sense of agency, responsibility, problem-solving skills, and connection to the world around them.

We can't wait to begin exploring, discovering, and learning together in our new Nature Play space over the next two weeks. Stay tuned for updates as our adventure unfolds! 🌱🍃

Our daily meals don't just provide the nutrition children need to learn, play and thrive—they look so delicious you can't help but love every bite! 🥗🌯🍛

Every meal is thoughtfully prepared to be both wholesome and exciting, encouraging children to explore new flavours, enjoy healthy foods and build positive relationships with mealtimes! Not to mention offering vegetarian options, and prepping meals accordingly to all family preferences. 💜

At Story House Early Learning Lynbrook, we believe food should be an experience, full of colour, flavour and joy. Watching our children gather around the table, excited to see what's on the menu each day, is something truly special. 💛

What an incredible day!

Together, our community raised an amazing $948.48 for the Victorian Aboriginal Child Care Agency (V***A).

Thank you to everyone who came along, purchased raffle tickets, made donations, bought items from the bake sale, participated in our activities and helped make the day such a success. It was so lovely seeing everyone come together, having a chat, sharing stories and supporting such an important cause.

A special thank you to N’Dene Riley for joining us, sharing her beautiful artwork and culture with our community. Thank you for sharing your story with us and helping make the day so meaningful.
