On Saturday, Better Multisensory Learning Centre proudly delivered a specialised G*T Preparation Workshop to support our VCE students, particularly those with ADHD, Dyslexia, Autism, learning difficulties, and other forms of neurodiversity, as they prepare for the upcoming General Achievement Test (G*T) on Tuesday 16th June. Throughout the workshop, students were equipped with practical strategies and tools to approach the test, including:
✅ Study skills and revision techniques
✅ Annotation strategies
✅ Multiple-choice strategies
✅ Writing and paragraph structures
✅ Understanding and applying meta-language
✅ Time-management and exam preparation skills
✅ What to expect in university and post-school pathways
✅ Available support accommodations in senior school, TAFE, and university settings
✅ Recommendations for ongoing careers
It was fantastic to see students actively engaging, asking questions, and developing strategies that they can apply not only to the G*T but also to their future studies.

📚 Why Is Reading So Tricky? 📚
Many people think reading should come naturally, but did you know that learning to read is actually incredibly complex?
🔤 There are 26 letters in the English alphabet...
🗣️ But there are approximately 44 different speech sounds (phonemes)...
✏️ And over 500 different ways to spell those sounds!
To make things even trickier, there are more than 2,000 sight words in English, many of which do not follow regular spelling rules.
For children and teenagers with Dyslexia, Learning Difficulties, ADHD, Autism and other learning challenges, learning to read and spell can be particularly difficult without the right support.
That is why early intervention and evidence-based instruction are so important. Through explicit, structured, and multisensory teaching, students can develop the skills, confidence, and strategies they need to become successful readers and writers.
At Better Multisensory Learning Centre, we specialise in supporting children and teens with literacy, numeracy, learning difficulties, and other learning difficulties through personalised intervention programs.

Did you know that approximately 15–20% of the world's population are neurodivergent? Neurodiversity includes Dyslexia, ADHD, Autism, Dyspraxia, Dysgraphia, Dyscalculia, Auditory Processing Disorder, and other learning differences. These differences are not deficits, they simply mean that individuals learn, think, and process information in unique ways.
At Better Multisensory Learning, we understand that every child learns differently. Our goal is to help children, teenagers, and families build confidence, develop skills, and achieve success in education and everyday life. Through evidence-based, multisensory approaches, we provide personalised support that caters to each learner's individual strengths and challenges.
We offer:
Literacy and reading intervention
Spelling and writing support
Multisensory mathematics programs
Study skills and executive functioning support
ADHD coaching and developmental education
School advocacy and educational assessments
Parent guidance and family support
Support for students from primary school through to Year 12
Our experienced team works closely with families, schools, and allied health professionals to create positive learning experiences that empower students to reach their full potential.
At Better Multisensory Learning, we believe that with the right support, every learner can thrive, build self-confidence, and develop a lifelong love of learning.

We are so touched by this beautiful review from one of our wonderful families. 🥹❤️
Over the past 10 years, it has been such a privilege to support this incredible student through her learning journey. Watching her grow in confidence, develop new skills, and overcome challenges along the way has been truly inspiring.
And now, she is starting University with aspirations to become a teacher herself, with a heart to support children with dyslexia just like her. 🎓✨ We could not be more proud!
Every child deserves a learning environment where they feel seen, supported, and celebrated.
Thank you to this amazing family for your trust over the years and for sharing your journey with us. We wish her every success in this exciting new chapter! 💛

One of the biggest misconceptions about Dyslexia is that children are “not trying hard enough.” In reality, many dyslexic learners are working twice as hard just to keep up.
Research and educational experience continue to show that students with Dyslexia often need significantly more repetition and exposure to new concepts before the learning becomes automatic and stored in long-term memory.
This is why repetition matters.
This is why explicit teaching matters.
This is why patience and understanding matter.
A child asking for instructions again is not lazy. A child needing more practice is not incapable. Their brain is simply processing information differently.
With the right support, structured teaching, and multisensory learning approaches, dyslexic students can thrive, succeed, and build confidence in their abilities. 💛
