WHY WE LEAD WITH MINDSET AND WELLBEING?
“I used to think mindset training was soft. I wanted to help my daughter be the best, so I just kept putting her in more classes and workshops. I got caught up in the competition and the pressure. I wish I had known then what I know now. She had so much potential to be professional, she consistently won everything. But we didn’t invest in her mindset. Even when all of her friends turned against her. She lost all of her confidence, and now she doesn’t dance at all. It was the biggest mistake we ever made. I’m so grateful we found you for our youngest daughter. The difference is remarkable. I don’t pressure her, it’s 100% her choice to perform, now I know to just be there as her mum, I’m not her teacher! The impact your program makes on parents is just as prolific as the kids. Because the strongest performers are not just the ones who can do the most tricks, get chosen in the final group at workshops or win the most competitions.
They are the ones who know who they are.
The ones who can recover from failure.

Back themselves in the room.
Support the people around them.
Stay grounded when things get hard.
And keep their love for performing alive.
These are the ones that find success as humans and as professional performers (if that’s what they choose!)

Presented at The Neilson, ACO On The Pier, in the heart of Sydney’s iconic Walsh Bay Arts Precinct.

Last night I had the privilege of attending the Gold Dinner in Sydney as a guest of our major sponsor, Shaw and Partners Financial Services.
An extraordinary $78.5 million was raised for the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation, supporting life-changing care, treatment and research for sick children and their families. The generosity in the room was truly mind-blowing.
I was fortunate to spend the evening with an incredible group of people, sharing conversations about young people, mental health, resilience, the arts and the power of community. It was inspiring to be surrounded by people so deeply committed to creating positive change.
Most importantly, I want to acknowledge Earl Evans, Katie Evans and the entire Shaw and Partners team.
One of the things this partnership has taught me is that sponsorship does not have to be transactional. Too often in the arts, sponsorship is viewed simply as financial support. What we have experienced with Shaw and Partners is something much deeper. A space where they have supported us to learn and grow with them.
They have become genuine champions of our vision, our young people and the work we do. Their support, encouragement and belief in RISE has helped us create opportunities that simply would not have been possible otherwise.
Shaw and Partners have never made us feel like we are asking for support. Instead, they have stood beside us as true partners celebrating our successes, opening doors, creating opportunities, believing in the next generation and allowing us to grow with them.
