Here are some of our favourite ways to spend the weekend without breaking the bank:

🛒 Visit a local market — Queen Vic Market (Melbourne) or Paddy's Market (Sydney) are perfect for cheap fresh food and a great atmosphere.
🚌 Use your student transport discount — explore a new suburb every weekend. Melbourne's CBD trams are completely free!
☕ Go café hopping — Melbourne especially has an incredible coffee and brunch culture. Fitzroy and Brunswick are great places to start.
🏖️ Spend some time by the water— St Kilda Beach, Bondi Beach, or the Yarra River are all easy to reach on public transport and completely free to enjoy.
🖼️ Explore free cultural spaces — the NGV in Melbourne and the Australian Museum in Sydney offer free entry to permanent collections. A great way to spend a quiet Sunday.
