As part of supporting our childrenβs growing independence and school readiness, we created a special prop Journey bag filled with the items we need to bring each day. Through play and discussion, children are learning to remember their belongings, take responsibility for their things, and build confidence in following daily routines. π
These everyday experiences are helping to develop important school readiness skills, including:
π Independence and self-help skills
π§ Memory and problem-solving
π Organisation and responsibility
π¬ Communication and confidence
β A sense of belonging and readiness for the exciting transition to school

There is so much learning happening at mealtimes! By serving their own food, children are building independence, developing fine motor skills, and learning to recognise when they are hungry or full.
Most importantly, they love the opportunity to say, βI can do it myself!β and that great feeling of achievement π
These everyday moments help children grow in confidence and develop important life skills that will support them well beyond the early years.
πBig skills are built through little moments!π

πͺπ§ Building Strong Bodies and Strong Minds! π§πͺ
Our Kinder children have been exploring the benefits of heavy work through hands-on, purposeful experiences in our outdoor environment!
Heavy work activities involve children using their muscles to push, pull, lift, carry, dig, and move objects. While it may look like simple play, these experiences provide valuable opportunities for learning and development. π±β¨
Through heavy work, children are able to:
π Develop gross motor skills and muscle strength
π Improve balance, coordination, and body awareness
π Build confidence and independence
π Strengthen problem-solving and teamwork skills
π Support focus, concentration, and self-regulation
The children were excited to take on challenges, work collaboratively with their friends, and use their growing strength to achieve their goals. It was wonderful to see their determination, persistence, and pride in their accomplishments! π

π What a fantastic evening of learning, reflection and teamwork π
During our team development meeting, we spent time reflecting on safeguarding practices and discussing how we can continue strengthening our programs and daily practices to support the wellbeing and safety of every child β€οΈ
There were plenty of laughs during a fun game of βThis or Thatβ π€ before teams came together to collaborate, share ideas and begin planning their next exciting room projects π¨πΏπ
We love seeing our educators so passionate about learning, growing and creating meaningful experiences for children and families every day β¨

Our toddlers may have grown into Pre-Kinders, but one thing definitely hasnβt changedβ¦ their LOVE of cooking! π©βπ³π¨βπ³π
To extend on this passion, our children and team have started something extra special. Every Thursday they work together to cook afternoon tea for everyone across the centre! π₯°π½οΈ
Last weekβs delicious afternoon tea was homemade banana bread π and the children were so proud to share their tasty treat with their friends and educators.
Cooking experiences provide so many wonderful learning opportunities, supporting confidence, teamwork, communication, early maths skills and helping children build positive relationships with food. We canβt wait to see whatβs on the menu this Thursday π©βπ³π¨βπ³π

πΏπ Spending time discovering the wonders of our outdoor environment. There was so much excitement as tiny bugs were spotted amongst the gardens and Bush Kinder ππ
We took the time to slow down, observe and talk about the little creatures in their natural environment, encouraging curiosity, respect for nature and a love of discovery π±β¨ These moments support childrenβs learning through observation, communication and developing an understanding of the world around them ππ

There were so many proud smiles as the children prepared and enjoyed their own fruit. π
