Over the past two lessons, our students focused on sketching big cats 🐯 🦁 🐈 leopards, tigers, lions, lynx cats…
Rather than simply copying outlines, they learned to observe carefully: studying the direction of light, following the natural flow of the fur, and controlling the weight and rhythm of every stroke. Through patient observation, they explored how subtle changes in line quality can create form, texture, and atmosphere.
One of the greatest challenges was capturing the intense, unwavering gaze of these magnificent animals, that almost breath-stopping feeling when a predator locks eyes with its target. Students worked hard to translate that sense of presence and tension onto paper, bringing life and character to their sketches.
Wonderful progress from everyone, and it's inspiring to see their observational skills growing stronger with each lesson. 🐆🐅🦁

This week in our art class, we explored the beauty of Landscape Painting) using watercolor techniques.
Students learned how to capture the harmony between mountains, water, and nature while developing essential watercolor skills. Some of the techniques we practiced included:
🌿 Wet-on-Wet Technique – creating soft, flowing washes for mist, clouds, and distant mountains.
⛰️ Layering (Glazing) – building depth and atmosphere by applying transparent layers of color.
💧 Gradient Washes – achieving smooth transitions of tone to create a sense of distance and perspective.
🖌️ Dry Brush Technique – adding texture to rocks, tree bark, and mountain surfaces.
🌫️ Negative Painting – painting around shapes to define trees, peaks, and natural elements while preserving light areas.
🎨 Controlled Water Flow – learning how to balance water and pigment to create the delicate, expressive effects characteristic of traditional landscape paintings.
It was wonderful to see everyone interpret the peaceful spirit of 山水画 in their own unique way. Thank you to all our students for your creativity and enthusiasm. We look forward to seeing you again next week for another inspiring artistic journey!

This week we explored the beauty of ink sketching ☺️
Students learned how different line techniques can create depth, shadow, and highlights, from bold expressive strokes to delicate fine lines. We practiced using closer lines for darker areas and spacing lines further apart to create lighter tones and softer effects.
It was wonderful watching everyone grow more confident with every line and every stroke. Step by step, sketches began to come alive, and each student showed real progress in observation, control, and creativity.
❤️ Every masterpiece starts with a single line ❤️

This week in our art classes, we’ve been painting windmills using soft pastels 🎨
It’s been such a joy to see how everyone has interpreted the same theme in their own unique way. Each painting carries its own mood, colors, and personal expression, no two are ever the same 💛
Soft pastels create a beautifully dreamy, gentle effect, and the process itself is incredibly calming and therapeutic. A perfect way to slow down, unwind, and enjoy the act of creating.
