Planning to study Social Work in Australia? Please take note! The University of Tasmania (UTAS) has announced updated English language proficiency requirements for the Bachelor of Social Work with Honours and the Master of Social Work (Qualifying).

These new criteria apply to all international students and will come into effect for the Semester 1, 2027 intake.

⚖️ New English Proficiency Criteria:
IELTS (Academic): Overall 7.0 (with no individual band less than 7.0).
PTE Academic: Overall 65 (with no score lower than 65).
TOEFL (iBT): Overall 94 (Reading 24, Listening 24, Speaking 23, Writing 27).
Cambridge C1 Advanced: Overall 185 (with no less than 185 in any skill).
