A big congratulations to our Chess Republic coach Fide Master Kai Jie Soo for achieving equal 3rd place at the 2026 Victorian Open Chess Championship.

Kai continues to show outstanding consistency at the highest level of Australian chess. Earlier this year, he also 3rd in the 2026 Australian Chess Championship.

His dedication, fighting spirit, and high-level chess knowledge continue to inspire our students at Chess Republic.

We are very proud to have Kai as part of our coaching team and wish him continued success in future tournaments.

At our Republic Masters Rapid – May Chess Championship 2026, we were proud to see so many young players showing great concentration, respect, sportsmanship, and courage throughout the tournament.

Every game was a chance to learn, make decisions, handle pressure, and grow stronger both on and off the chessboard.
