1986 Reunion - Big 40th Anniversary!
What a fun bunch of energetic and vivacious Girls!
Such hilarious conversations. But the recurring themes were remembering our warm community of Shelford and that there was no mention at all of what Girls cannot do!

Robyn, Helen, Jill, and I attended the Dixon House Launch recently at CGS.
It was such a vibrant and enthusiastic evening.
We appreciate Dixon's motto of "Courage and Determination." However, we were encouraged by the students' speeches mentioning kindness, compassion and commitment. Also, inclusion and making sure other students are seen and heard.
Miss Emily Dixon must have been a strong woman for her time to start a girl's school in 1898 when their education was not considered important.
Happy to hear that Dixon has done so well so far this year. Go Dixon!

Last Friday night, we celebrated the Year of 2016 at the Brix Bar. There was plenty of laughter and excitement as everyone reconnected, and before long the room was buzzing with chatter. Shelford memorabilia and Year 7 photos sparked nostalgia and plenty of giggles. What a bright, confident group these Shelford women are!

Shelford Film Night - Devil Wears Prada 2
On opening night, the Shelford Alumnae gathered for the premiere screening of The Devil Wears Prada 2, filling one of the theatres at the Palace Brighton (formerly the Dendy Brighton).
Guests enjoyed canapés and drinks beforehand, and it was wonderful to see such a broad mix of generations coming together for the evening. The sequel was stylish, witty and just as entertaining 20 years on — much like the Alumnae themselves!

Our SGGAA AGM on Monday, 27th April was successful and efficient.
We welcome Rachel Hammond as our new Vice President. (She is already active on the Reunion Sub Committee!).
Robyn Young continues as Treasurer - we are very grateful for her ongoing skills.
We thank Lyndy Clark for her creative input as she steps down to focus on mentoring her drama students. We wish her well.
The Association remains in a sound financial position.

Comments about the 1969 Annual Reunion from Kay Collins, the Year Rep:
“17 lovely ladies enjoyed a lovely lunch at the Brighton Hotel on 14th March.
Girls chatted cheerfully and moved seats to be able to talk to everyone. There was happy noise. It was hilarious.
Two women, Elizabeth Landry and Jeanette Anderson/Bourne (first photo) had not seen each other since School and they realised they both live in Queensland. Then another Girl was from Queensland too so that all three of them plan to catch up there in the future and also with our Queensland Branch. It was a thoroughly enjoyable and extended afternoon."
They plan to have another reunion in August.
Kay did a lot of chasing up Girls and said it was very rewarding organising it.
