Happy clients don't automatically refer you.
Happy clients who are ASKED? They usually do.
It's not awkward. It's not pushy. It's just: "Hey, if you know anyone who could use support like this, I'd really appreciate the introduction."
That's it. Three seconds. Potentially a new client.
When did you last ask? And what's stopping you if the answer is "ages ago"? 👇

Your bio says: Bookkeeper.
Their tag line says: I help hospitality businesses stop bleeding cash and actually understand their numbers.
Who gets hired?
Your Instagram and Facebook profiles are doing silent work — or silent damage — 24/7. Make sure they're saying the right thing.
Update your bio this week. Be specific. Name who you help and what changes for them when you do.
Drop your updated bio in the comments — I'll cheer you on 👇

Here's the cycle that trips up almost every bookkeeper 👇
Things get busy → marketing stops → things quiet down → panic → scramble to get clients → things get busy again → marketing stops.
Rinse. Repeat. Forever.
The fix is boring, but it works: block dedicated marketing time in your calendar BEFORE the busy season hits. Treat it like a client appointment you can't cancel.
What's your system for keeping marketing consistent when you're slammed? I need to know. ☕

Here's the EOFY conversation that trips up clients every single year:
"We made a profit — why is there no money?"
Cash flow and profit are not the same thing. And EOFY is the perfect time to have this conversation properly, before your clients make decisions based on a number that doesn't tell the full story.
If you can explain this clearly — and help your clients actually understand it — you become indispensable.
That's not bookkeeping. That's being a trusted advisor. 💡
Save this for your next client catch-up. 👆

A data breach isn't a tech problem.
It's a trust problem.
Your clients share their most sensitive financial information with you — bank details, payroll, business finances. That's an enormous amount of trust sitting in your systems.
Cyber insurance, good password managers, two-factor authentication, secure file-sharing — these aren't optional extras anymore. They're table stakes.
What does your data security setup actually look like right now? I'd genuinely love to know what the community is using — drop it below 👇

PI insurance isn't a "set and forget" thing.
There are three things every bookkeeper should check on their policy right now:
1. Your retroactive date — this determines how far back claims are covered. If you've switched insurers without checking this, you could have a gap.
2. Your sum insured — does it still reflect the size of your practice and the clients you're working with?
3. Run-off cover — if you ever close your practice, who covers claims made after you stop trading?
Most bookkeepers set up PI insurance once and never look at it again. Don't be like most bookkeepers. 📋
