Our English students visited the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV), where they explored a range of fascinating exhibitions in one of Australia’s leading cultural institutions. The visit gave students the opportunity to experience world-class artworks and exhibitions while learning more about creativity, history, and culture. 🎨

During the excursion, students engaged with a variety of artworks, including paintings, sculptures, photography, and contemporary installations from artists such as Picasso and Monet. As they explored the exhibitions, they discussed their interpretations of the works, practised describing visual details in English, and shared their opinions about the themes and ideas presented by the artists. πŸ–ΌπŸ–Œ

The exhibitions encouraged students to think critically, ask questions, and communicate their thoughts with their classmates and teachers. Through these discussions, students expanded their vocabulary and gained confidence using English in an authentic and engaging environment. πŸ’

The visit provided a valuable opportunity for students to develop their language skills while immersing themselves in the arts. The exhibitions sparked curiosity, inspired creativity, and encouraged students to express their ideas and perspectives in meaningful ways, making the excursion both educational and enjoyable. πŸŽ“

Our Melbourne campus English students recently visited Box Hill, one of Melbourne’s most vibrant multicultural communities, to experience the diversity of cultures that makes the city so unique. Known for its strong Asian presence, particularly the Chinese community, Box Hill offered students an opportunity to explore a bustling local precinct filled with international shops, restaurants, markets, and cultural influences. πŸ‡¨πŸ‡³

πŸ§‘πŸ» During the excursion, students walked through the area, observed everyday life in a multicultural Australian suburb, and discussed the different languages, traditions, and cultural practices they encountered. They shared their observations in English, compared cultural experiences, and learned more about how migration has shaped Melbourne’s diverse population.

As part of the visit, students also enjoyed trying traditional Northern Chinese buns, giving them a taste of authentic regional Chinese cuisine and providing a fun opportunity to discuss food, culture, and personal preferences in English. 🍞

The excursion provided a valuable opportunity for students to build confidence using English in a real-world setting while developing their intercultural awareness and communication skills. By engaging directly with one of Melbourne’s most diverse communities, students gained a deeper understanding of multiculturalism in Australia and strengthened their ability to express their ideas and experiences through meaningful conversations. 🀟🏻🀟🀟🏽❀️

Our Melbourne campus English students visited The Ian Potter Centre: NGV Australia at Federation Square, where they explored a wide range of Australian artworks and creative exhibitions in one of Melbourne’s most iconic cultural spaces. The gallery is dedicated exclusively to Australian art and features contemporary, historical, and First Nations works across multiple exhibition spaces. 🎨🎨🎨

🎭 During the excursion, students engaged with colourful paintings, photography, fashion, and multimedia installations that encouraged discussion and personal interpretation. As they explored the gallery, students shared their opinions about different artworks, practised describing visual details in English, and learned about Australian culture and artistic expression through interactive conversations.

Recently, our English students enjoyed a vibrant day out, beginning with a visit to Ahoy Roy where they sat down together to enjoy a classic serving of fish and chips. The relaxed lunch setting gave students the chance to socialise, share stories, and practise their conversational English in a natural and friendly environment. 🐟🍟

Afterwards, the group headed down to St Kilda Beach, where the energy of the seaside created the perfect afternoon. Students took part in a friendly game of volleyball, working together in teams, learning new vocabulary related to sports and teamwork, and encouraging one another along the way. Many also took time to walk along the beach and enjoy the scenery. 🏐

The excursion provided a valuable opportunity for students to immerse themselves in everyday English outside the classroom and also the local Melbourne scene. By engaging in group activities and interacting socially, they were able to build confidence, improve fluency, and strengthen their communication skills in a fun and memorable setting. πŸŒžπŸ–

Greats news for students! Free public transport across Victoria has now been extended. What was originally available from late March through April 2026 will now continue until Sunday 31 May. πŸ’₯πŸ’₯πŸ’₯

All trains, trams and buses across the state will remain free to use during this extended period, with no need to tap on or off using a myki card. Ticket gates will stay open, making travel easier and more accessible for everyone. βœ…

For our students, this extension means extra weeks of savings when travelling to classes, part-time work and social activities, helping ease the cost of everyday life to be better put towards other essentials. πŸ₯Ή

Looking ahead, once the free travel period ends on 31 May, fares across Victoria will be reduced by 50% from 1 June until 1 January 2027. This discount will apply to both full fare and concession passengers, continuing to make public transport more affordable beyond the free period. πŸ˜„
