🐢💚 Celebrating National Turtle Day in the Toddler Room 💚🐢

Our toddlers had a wonderful time celebrating National Turtle Day through a fun and creative art experience!

Using a variety of materials, colours, and textures, children were invited to decorate their own turtles, exploring their creativity and imagination while learning about these amazing sea creatures. As they painted, glued, and created, educators engaged children in conversations about turtles, their habitats, and the importance of caring for our oceans and wildlife.

These hands-on experiences supported children's fine motor development, creativity, and self-expression while encouraging an appreciation for the natural world around them.

We loved seeing each child's unique turtle come to life, with every creation reflecting their individual ideas and artistic flair. 🌊🎨

What a fantastic way to celebrate National Turtle Day while learning through play!

Learning Through Nature: Nature Face Creations

Our children at Goodstart Early Learning Braybrook have been exploring creativity, imagination, and connection with the natural world through a wonderful nature face creation experience.

Using a collection of natural materials including leaves, seed pods, bark, sticks, and other treasures found in nature, children thoughtfully designed their own unique faces. As they created, they explored concepts such as shape, position, and symmetry while developing their problem solving skills and creative thinking.

Experiences like this encourage children to slow down, observe the beauty in nature, and use their imagination in meaningful ways. They also help foster a sense of belonging and respect for our environment as children learn that nature can be a source of inspiration, discovery, and learning.

At Goodstart Braybrook, we love providing opportunities for children to learn through hands-on experiences that spark curiosity, creativity, and wonder.

Every leaf, stick, and seed tells a story, and today our children used nature to tell theirs.

Today our children were taken on an exciting adventure into the world of Australian animals through a hands-on Zoo Incursion! From exploring animal skulls and fossils to learning about creatures that once roamed our land, the experience sparked curiosity, imagination, and lots of thoughtful questions.

The children were encouraged to investigate, wonder, and think like scientists as they examined different animal features and discussed how animals live, move, and survive in their environments. There were plenty of opportunities for exploration, questioning, and discovery, helping to bring learning to life in a fun and engaging way.

Experiences like these support our STEM learning by encouraging children to observe, compare, predict, and problem-solve while developing a deeper understanding of the natural world around them.

We loved seeing the excitement on the children's faces as they shared their ideas, asked questions, and let their imaginations run wild. What a wonderful day of learning, exploration, and fun!

At Goodstart Braybrook, our 3–4-year-old Kindergarten children have been exploring the exciting world of Science through a hands-on STEM investigation: Growing a Bean in a Bag!

Through this learning experience, children are developing their curiosity and critical thinking skills as they observe, predict, question, and document changes in their bean seeds each day. Together, we have been discussing what plants need to grow, making predictions about what will happen next, and learning about the life cycle of a plant.

This simple yet engaging experiment encourages children to become little scientists as they explore concepts such as growth, observation, problem-solving, and sustainability. It also helps build early literacy and numeracy skills through recording observations, measuring growth, and engaging in meaningful discussions with peers and educators.

At Goodstart Braybrook, we believe STEM learning begins in the early years through play, exploration, and discovery. We love creating opportunities that inspire children to wonder, investigate, and develop a lifelong love of learning.
