A partner visa application is assessed on whether the relationship is genuine and continuing.

These four key areas help demonstrate the nature of the relationship, including how you live together, share finances, engage socially, and maintain long-term commitment.

Consistent documentation across these areas strengthens the overall application and supports a clearer assessment outcome.

Don't let social media rumours distract you from your migration goals.

If you are working in a teaching occupation and meet the eligibility requirements, you may be able to:

✅ Obtain a positive skills assessment
✅ Lodge an EOI for skilled migration
✅ Receive an invitation for Australian PR
✅ Build a long-term future in Australia

The key is to understand your eligibility, points, and the pathway that best suits your profile.

Plan your migration journey with the right strategy and focus on opportunities ahead.

Many students believe that enrolling in a research degree is the best way to secure Australian PR.

But that's not always the case.

A research degree is designed for those who genuinely want to pursue research and academic careers.

It requires significant commitment, independent work, and long-term dedication.

Before choosing this pathway, ask yourself:
✅ Do I want a career in research?
✅ Is this course aligned with my long-term goals?
✅ Is there a simpler PR pathway available to me?

For many applicants, PR is not about studying more courses.

It is about understanding the right migration pathway, building relevant skills, gaining experience, and making informed career decisions.

Choose a course because it matches your goals not just because you think it leads to PR.

A clear strategy is often more valuable than another qualification.

There are signs of faster processing for certain employer-sponsored visa applications, with some 482 nomination applications reportedly being auto-approved by the system.

If you are considering:
✅ Subclass 482 Temporary Skill Shortage visa
✅ Subclass 186 Employer Nomination Scheme visa

This could be an excellent time to review your eligibility and prepare your application.

A strong employer, genuine position, and well-prepared documentation remain essential for a successful outcome.

The earlier you start planning, the stronger your employer-sponsored PR pathway can be.

If your employment has ended, make sure your EOI is updated correctly.

Claiming points for work experience that you cannot prove may lead to serious issues, including visa refusal.

Always:
✅ Update your EOI when employment changes
✅ Claim only eligible work experience points
✅ Keep evidence ready for every point claimed

A small mistake today can delay your PR tomorrow.

A research degree is not the right choice for everyone seeking Australian PR.

✅ Research degrees are intensive and designed for those pursuing academic or research careers.

✅ If your goal is only PR, there may be simpler and more affordable pathways.

✅ In many cases, PR depends more on your skills, occupation, employer sponsorship, and migration strategy not on studying another course.

Before enrolling, ask yourself:
Am I studying for a career, or just chasing PR?
The best migration pathway is the one that matches your long-term goals.

If you have completed a TRA Skills Assessment in a trade occupation, you may be wondering:
How many migration points can I officially claim?
The answer comes through TRA's Migration Points Advice (MPA).
This is an official process where TRA assesses your eligible skilled employment and advises how many points you may claim for:
✅ Subclass 189
✅ Subclass 190
✅ Subclass 491
TRA will assess:
• When your skilled employment started
• Which period is considered eligible
• How much work experience can be counted for migration points
This is important because work experience calculations for migration points can be different from what many applicants assume.
If you want to claim points confidently in your EOI, obtaining the official TRA Migration Points Advice can provide clarity and support your application strategy.

Many applicants believe that if their Skills Assessment authority does not recognise certain work experience, they automatically lose those PR points.
That is not always true.
The Skills Assessment authority and the Department of Home Affairs assess different requirements and may apply different criteria.
This means that, depending on your circumstances, work experience that was not counted by the assessing body may still be considered when claiming points for your visa application provided it meets the Department's requirements.
Every case is different, and understanding the distinction between these two assessments is extremely important before lodging your application.
Don't assume you have lost your points without checking the applicable visa rules carefully.
