🦋 Butterfly Inquiry in Our Toddler Room 🦋

Our inquiry began when the toddlers noticed that some leaves in our garden bed had been eaten. Curious to find out what had happened, we explored our vegetable patch and discovered caterpillars and tiny butterfly eggs!

Following the children's interests, we created a butterfly life cycle experience to support their understanding of how butterflies grow and change. Through hands-on exploration, our toddlers are developing their curiosity, observation skills, and appreciation for nature as they learn about the fascinating journey from egg to butterfly. 🌿🐛🦋

Everyday discoveries like these create meaningful opportunities for learning and wonder in our toddler room.

Celebrating 20 Years with Goodstart – Dina

Today, we proudly celebrate an incredible milestone as Dina marks 20 years of service with Goodstart Early Learning.

Dina's journey with Goodstart is truly inspiring. She began her career as a casual educator and, through her dedication, passion, and commitment to early childhood education, progressed through her career to become an Early Childhood Teacher (ECT) while also completing her Bachelor's degree.

Over the past two decades, Dina has touched the lives of countless children, families, and colleagues through her warmth, kindness, and unwavering dedication. Her journey is a wonderful example of perseverance, lifelong learning, and the opportunities that come from following your passion.

Thank you, Dina, for your remarkable contribution and for everything you do each day. Congratulations on this outstanding achievement – 20 years of making a difference and inspiring others along the way!

Our little gardeners have been busy caring for our veggie patch, and we are so excited to see it flourishing! From leafy greens to colourful vegetables, the children are learning firsthand where food comes from and the importance of nurturing living things.

Through watering, observing changes, and talking about the plants' needs, our toddlers are developing curiosity, responsibility, and a love for nature. We can't wait to watch our garden continue to grow and enjoy the harvest together! 🌿💚

Our Kinder teachers have been extending on the children's current interest in exploring the ocean, corals, and sea life. Together, the children have been learning about the wonders of the Great Barrier Reef, the importance of protecting sea creatures, and the impact human activities can have on our oceans.

Through meaningful conversations and hands-on experiences, the children shared ideas about how we can care for our environment by reducing waste, recycling, and making choices that help keep our oceans clean.

It has been wonderful to see our children demonstrate curiosity, compassion, and a growing sense of responsibility for protecting our beautiful planet and its marine life.

We had our staff meeting last night, where we unpacked our March 2026 Voices Survey feedback and collaboratively created an action plan focusing on three key priorities for our centre.
Staff meetings provide us with an opportunity to reflect on our practices, share ideas, strengthen our teamwork, and work together towards continuous improvement.
To make sure our educators had a warm dinner on a chilly evening, our lovely Safety Champion, Peta, cooked pumpkin soup for the whole team.
Thank you, Peta, for your kindness and for always going above and beyond to care for our team. It's the small gestures like these that make our centre feel supported, connected, and truly special. 💛

While the children are busy learning and playing, our kitchen is busy creating meals made with care, a sprinkle of love, and just the right amount of chef's secret talent!
