PICNIC DAY CELEBRATION
On 18 June, our children celebrated Picnic Day with lots of fun and excitement! Each room created its own special picnic setup, and the children brought along their favourite teddy bears to join in the festivities.
Adding to the excitement, each room also baked and prepared delicious food for afternoon tea. The children enjoyed helping to make the tasty treats and were proud to share and enjoy them with their friends during their picnic.
The children had a wonderful time sharing snacks, spending time together, and enjoying their teddy bear picnic. While the weather meant that some rooms had to move their picnics indoors, this certainly didn't dampen the fun. Everyone still had a fantastic time participating in the celebrations.
It was a lovely day filled with laughter, friendship, creativity, and delicious food. Thank you to all our families for helping the children bring their teddy bear friends along for this special event! ๐งธโจ

๐งโโ๏ธ๐ World Yoga Day Celebration โ 21 June ๐๐งโโ๏ธ
Our children had a wonderful time celebrating World Yoga Day across all rooms! We explored yoga through fun animal-themed poses, encouraging children to move their bodies, use their imaginations, and practise mindfulness.
The children enjoyed spinning the yoga wheel and taking turns rolling specially made yoga dice to choose which pose everyone would do next. This gave each child the opportunity to make choices, take turns, and lead their peers in the activities.
Through yoga, children developed their balance, coordination, flexibility, concentration, and confidence while having lots of fun together. It was a fantastic way to celebrate the day and promote healthy minds and bodies.
What a joyful and engaging experience for all! ๐ธ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐โจ

๐๐ School Readiness Excursion ๐๐
Our 4-Year-Old Kindergarten children recently enjoyed a wonderful excursion to Monmia Primary School as part of their school readiness journey.
During their visit, the children had the opportunity to spend time with Prep students, explore classrooms, and enjoy listening to stories in the library. These experiences helped our children become familiar with a school environment while building their confidence and excitement about starting school.
It was a fantastic opportunity for the children to gain a better understanding of what school life is like, make new connections, and develop a sense of belonging within the wider community.
We are so proud of how beautifully they represented our centre and embraced this exciting learning experience! ๐๐

๐โค๏ธ Thank a First Responder Day โ 11 June โค๏ธ๐
Today, our children celebrated Thank a First Responder Day by creating a special Wall of Appreciation in our foyer. Families and children were invited to leave heartfelt messages of thanks for the amazing first responders who work tirelessly to keep our community safe.
Our Kinder children also had the opportunity to create a beautiful thank-you certificate and card for one of our centre families who is a dedicated nurse. It was a wonderful way for the children to learn about gratitude, kindness, and the important role first responders play in our everyday lives.
We would like to extend a huge THANK YOU to all nurses, paramedics, firefighters, police officers, SES volunteers, and emergency service workers for your dedication, courage, and care. Your hard work does not go unnoticed, and we are so grateful for everything you do. ๐๐๐๐ฎโโ๏ธ๐ฉโโ๏ธ
Thank you to all the families who stopped by and left a message on our Wall of Appreciation. Together, we are helping our children learn the value of recognizing and appreciating the heroes in our community. ๐

๐ฟ This Weekโs Learning Highlights ๐ฟ
Our EMU Room focused on World Environment Day this week.
During group time, the children contributed to a floor book discussion about the environment, sharing their ideas about what is found in our environment and discussing ways we can help protect and care for it.
Following the discussion, the children expressed their understanding through their own drawings, illustrating different elements of the environment and the things they value in the world around them.
It was wonderful to see the childrenโs creativity, knowledge, and enthusiasm for caring for our planet. ๐๐
These important themes provided valuable opportunities for children to participate in group discussions, share their thoughts, and explore different perspectives through meaningful communication.
Through a range of experiences, children developed a greater appreciation of nature and Australiaโs unique environment. They also deepened their understanding of the Traditional Custodians of the land and the ongoing importance of caring for and respecting Country.

๐ค๐โค๏ธ Reconciliation Week โ Kangaroos Room โค๏ธ๐๐ค
This week, the children participated in a range of meaningful experiences to celebrate Reconciliation Week. Together, they created a collaborative handprint artwork using the colours of the Aboriginal flag, explored an Australian bush sensory bin, and engaged in playdough activities using Aboriginal symbols and natural resources.
Children also worked together to create an "All In" Footprint Mural, symbolising unity, diversity, and belonging, while developing patience and cooperation. To conclude the week, they enjoyed making damper, exploring new textures, smells, and cultural learning through a hands-on experience.
Through these activities, children developed a deeper appreciation for Aboriginal culture while embracing the values of respect, inclusion, and working together.
