This week, our children engaged in meaningful Reconciliation Week experiences through storytelling, art, sensory play, and group discussions that encouraged respect, kindness, belonging, and connection. ❤️🖤💛
The children explored creative experiences such as painting beautiful purple flowers, making heartfelt artwork, and participating in hands-on playdough activities that supported their creativity, fine motor skills, communication, and social development. Our learning spaces were thoughtfully set up to encourage conversations about sharing, inclusion, and caring for one another. 🌿💜
A special highlight of the week was our amazing chef preparing delicious damper for afternoon tea. The children enjoyed sharing and tasting this traditional food experience together while learning about culture, connection, and community.

🤟 Exploring AUSLAN Sign Language 🤟
Our children had a wonderful time learning and exploring AUSLAN sign language as part of our inclusive learning experiences. Through interactive discussions, visual cards, and practicing simple everyday signs such as “drink,” “eat,” “help,” and “more,” the children were excited to discover new ways to communicate with others.
This experience encouraged empathy, inclusion, and an understanding that communication can happen in many different ways. The children were highly engaged and eager to practice the signs with their peers and educators throughout the day. 💙

Our Kinder children explored loose parts construction using colourful connecting shapes and wheels — and the creativity was incredible to watch! 🌈💡
The children used their imagination, problem-solving skills, and persistence to design unique creations, from funny glasses and creative sculptures to moving models and exciting inventions. 🚗👓✨
It was wonderful to see the joy, concentration, and pride on their faces as they experimented, explored, and brought their ideas to life. 💕

🚦Road Safety Week at Goodstart Hampton Park Somerville Road 🚦
This week, our little learners became mini road safety experts! 🛑🚸�Through hands-on play, interactive discussions, and imaginative learning experiences, children explored the importance of staying safe on and around roads.
From recognising traffic lights 🚦 and stop signs 🛑 to learning how to use zebra crossings and listen carefully before crossing, our children were fully engaged in meaningful learning through play.

✨🥛 Magic Milk Sensory Fun 🥛✨
Our little scientists had an exciting time exploring the wonderful “Magic Milk” sensory activity today! 🌈🧪
The children were fascinated as they watched the colourful food dye swirl, spin, and “dance” across the milk after adding soap with a cotton swab. Their faces lit up with excitement and curiosity as they explored the magical scientific reaction happening right before their eyes. 💫
Before beginning, we introduced the children to all the materials — milk, food colouring, soap liquid, and cotton swabs — and talked about what might happen. The excitement quickly grew when the colours began to move!

🚒🔥 Celebrating International Firefighters’ Day at Goodstart Hampton Park 🔥🚒
our learning spaces were transformed into exciting firefighter-themed experiences as the children explored the important role firefighters play in keeping our community safe. ❤️
The children enjoyed dressing up in firefighter jackets and helmets, engaging in imaginative role play, exploring sensory activities with fire trucks and colourful materials, and learning about fire safety in a fun and meaningful way. We also shared discussions about calling 000 in an emergency and how firefighters help people every day.

We celebrated the incredible mothers, grandmothers, carers and special women in our children’s lives with a beautiful Mother’s Day event filled with love, laughter and appreciation. 🌸
Our learning spaces were transformed with stunning displays, thoughtful handmade gifts and special keepsakes created by the children with so much care and creativity. From our colourful photo booth to the lovingly wrapped gifts, every detail reflected the love and appreciation our children have for their families. 💝
It was wonderful to see families come together for a special afternoon tea, share smiles, take photos and enjoy these special moments with their little ones. Creating meaningful connections and celebrating the important people in our community is something we truly value at Goodstart Somerville Road. 🌷
