Shout out to intended parents in NSW and QLD - this could affect you so get in touch with Rainbow Families!
Two serious issues are making it harder for LGBTQ+ people to access donor s***m through clinics right now, and we need to hear from you.
In NSW, a reduced donor limit has made clinic-recruited s***m nearly impossible to access. In Queensland, same-sex couples are being incorrectly counted as two families instead of one when calculating donor limits.
Rainbow Families Australia is actively advocating on both issues, but your story is what gives our advocacy weight.
If you've been directly affected, please take a few minutes to share your experience in our short survey. What you share may be used in a letter or report to push for change.

New laws strengthening protections for LGBTIQ+ communities have passed NSW parliament.
The government legislation - backed by the Opposition, the Greens, Legalise Cannabis and the Animal Justice Party - creates a new offence to target offenders who lure victims under false pretences, such as on dating apps, and a higher penalty when serious assaults and robberies are filmed and posted online.
New sentencing laws would make it easier to prove offences were motivated by hate where an offender demonstrated or expressed these views in the course of the offending or shortly before or afterwards.
The law also includes stronger penalties for publicly threatening or inciting violence, including where this results in actual violence.
These laws were introduced following an ABC investigation that uncovered distressing footage of violent attacks on young gay and bi men in Sydney.
The debate included calls from a variety of MLCs to release the Sackar Review, a report that looks more hollistically at NSW's protections from hate. The report has been sitting with the government since November last year.
If we hope to stamp out hate, we must go beyond criminal penalties by investing in prevention, community safety and meaningful support for victims.
