🐥CHICKEN LIFE CYCLE 🔄 in ACTION 🐣

Our Classroom 5 children embarked on a meaningful learning journey exploring the life cycle of chickens. To enrich their understanding, the children had the unique opportunity to watch real chicks hatch in their classroom, bringing their learning to life in a hands-on and memorable way. Over a two-week period, the children observed the chicks closely, noticing how they grew, moved, and responded to their environment.

This experience encouraged curiosity, wonder, and deeper conversations about living things, while also fostering empathy and a sense of responsibility as the children helped care for them each day. To continue this meaningful connection beyond the classroom, some families chose to purchase the chicks and take them home, extending the care and learning into their family environment and creating lasting memories for the children.

Excursion to Berwick Waters Waterfront Park 🌿🚌🎨

Our recent excursion to Berwick Waters Waterfront Park gave the children an opportunity to connect with nature on the lands of the Boonwurrung People people. They explored the environment, collected natural materials, and later used these treasures to create artwork inspired by the landscapes they observed. Through art, observation, and discussion, the children deepened their connection to Country and developed an appreciation for the land and its significance. 🌱🍃💚

Collaboration With Turrun Primary School

Last week we welcomed a teacher from Turrun Primary School who visited our kindergarten to read a story with the children. Following the story, she engaged the children in a meaningful discussion about starting school and what they can do to prepare for their transition to primary school next year.

This visit was a wonderful example of collaboration between our kindergarten and the school community. It served as a valuable extension of our recent visit to Turrun Primary School, helping to strengthen children’s connections and familiarity with the school environment.
