Our Year 3 and 4 students students stepped back in time aboard the Enterprize tall ship in Williamstown. To bring their history unit on the First Fleet to life, our intrepid sailors experienced life at sea firsthand. They did a fantastic job working as a team to hoist the sails, steer the ship, and ring the signal bell!
The excursion provided a wonderful hands-on opportunity to connect classroom learning with real-world experiences and sparked many thoughtful discussions about exploration, trade, culture, and Australia’s place in the world.

Our Prep students welcomed another special community helper to our school today. This time it was a police officer! 👮🚔
The students enjoyed learning about the important role police officers play in keeping our community safe. They revised the emergency number to call when help is needed, explored the equipment and uniform used by police officers, and even had the exciting opportunity to inspect a real police car and sit in the driver’s seat!
One of the highlights of the visit was learning about police dogs and horses. The students were fascinated by these special members of the police force and had lots of questions about the important work they do.
A big thank you to Lisa from the Forest Hill Police Department for taking the time to visit and share her knowledge and experiences with our students. We loved having you at our school!

What a week of celebrations for our Prep students! 🎉
Today, our Preps celebrated Milo’s Birthday Surprise, a special milestone in the Little Learners Love Literacy program.
Throughout the year, students have met a range of Little Learners Love Literacy characters, with each character introducing a new letter and sound. Milo’s Birthday Surprise marks the completion of learning all 26 alphabet sounds and celebrates the students’ hard work and success on their learning journey.
The students enjoyed a range of literacy-themed party games, including Pass the Parcel, Pin the Tail on Milo, Musical Statues and more. They also teamed up with their buddies for a school-wide scavenger hunt, searching for the characters and working together to uncover a secret message!
At Friday’s P-2 assembly, our Preps proudly took part in an Alphabet Parade to celebrate learning all of the alphabet sounds. Wearing the alphabet posters they created with their buddies, the students showcased their learning and achievements with confidence and excitement.
We are so proud of our students and the wonderful progress they have made! ⭐📚

Our year 3 & 4 students had a fantastic time making Mini Quiches as part of our Kitchen Garden Program. They harvested fresh silverbeet straight from the school garden, practised their safe knife chopping skills while preparing the ingredients, and worked together to create a tray of delicious mini quiches. Students continued to build confidence in the kitchen while learning about growing and cooking fresh food. The perfect recipe for a chilly long weekend 👏

Yesterday, our students participating in the Victorian State School Spectacular Mass Choir enjoyed their final hub rehearsal of the term. Our amazing conductor Clare Wever taught us many fun and creative ways to remember tricky lyrics and sing our very best. We can’t wait for our next rehearsal with all the other schools at Melbourne town hall next term!

Today our Prep students enjoyed a special visit from the firefighters!
They learned about the difference between safe and unsafe fires, had a look at the protective equipment firefighters wear, and discussed the importance of having a safe meeting place during an emergency.
Students also practised the important fire safety message: “Crawl down low and go, go, go!” to help them stay safe if there is smoke filling a room.
To continue the learning at home, students have been challenged to talk with their families and identify their household’s safe meeting place in case of an emergency.
A big thank you to our local firefighters for sharing their knowledge and helping our students learn valuable fire safety skills! 🔥👨🚒
