Today, the children took on an exciting obstacle course featuring mini hurdles and a netted goal challenge at the finish line! 🌟

As children jumped, balanced, ran, and aimed for the goal, they were developing important skills including:
- Gross motor coordination
- Balance and body awareness
- Spatial awareness
- Concentration and perseverance
- Confidence and self-esteem
- Turn-taking and teamwork

What a fantastic way to build physical skills while having fun!

🏆⚽ World Cup: Showdown! ⚽🏆

The competition was fierce today as our little soccer stars took to the field for the Childcare World Cup! Fans came from near and far to watch the excitement unfold as children used their fingers to kick pom pom soccer balls across a tuff tray field complete with soccer markings and block goals.

Cheers filled the stadium as players showed determination, teamwork, and great sportsmanship while aiming for those winning goals. Every match was packed with excitement, laughter, and plenty of celebrations!

🧸🫖Teddy Bear Picnic🫖🧸

Previously we had planned a Teddy Bears Picnic excursion but on the day the rain decided to come. However, with great thanks to our wonderful friends at , who let us use their back function room, our excursion went ahead.

The children gathered their teddy bears and off to the cafe they headed, once inside they set up picnic rugs and sat together with their teddies. The children shared sandwiches and homemade biscuits with their teddies before having a roleplay tea party to finish off their picnic.

The following week the children had made a card for MiniMeMango and delivered this to Sophie as a thankyou for helping make their picnic possible.

🦋 A Magical Butterfly Experience! 🦋

Today was a very special day as we welcomed the Butterfly House to our centre. Throughout the morning, the children had the opportunity to observe and interact with the butterflies up close.

Bringing the perfect conclusion to our 4-month project exploring the fascinating life cycle of caterpillars and butterflies, with thanks to Butterfly Adventures

A huge thank you to Caitlin for being such a wonderful host and for creating an engaging, and memorable experience for our children.

🌿🎨Grandfriends & Little Makers 🌿🎨

Today’s session brought Grandfriends and children together to explore clay, leaves, buttons, and a variety of loose parts as they designed their own special keepsakes. Through hands-on creativity, children experimented with textures, shapes, patterns, and natural materials while sharing conversations, ideas, and laughter with their grandfriends.

These experiences support creativity, sensory exploration, and language skills. Most importantly, they foster meaningful intergenerational connections, helping children build a sense of belonging, community, and respect for others.

Each keepsake tells a unique story and captures a wonderful memory from today’s shared learning experience. 💚

At Story House Bundoora, we celebrate all children's birthdays. Our chef prepares a cake for the nearest day to all children's birthdays. The children take a trip to our Birthday Cupboard to pick their own tablecloth and table decor for their class party.

🎣 🐟Grandfriends🐟🎣

Today at Bundoora Retirement Village our Grandfriends had prepared an activity for us. We made our own fishing game! The children designed, decorated, and cut out their fish, showing great confidence and growing scissor skills. With help from our Grandfriends, we added magnets and created fishing rods before enjoying a fun fishing game together. Best of all, the fish can be taken home and used as fridge magnets! 🐟

We are soooo lucky to be able to continue building these amazing connections with our Grandfriends, through play and shared joy.
