There’s something special about learning beyond the classroom 🌿
Our little explorers love heading out on excursions, taking in the world around them, building confidence, and strengthening their sense of community as they go.
Moments like these aren’t just walks, they’re opportunities for connection, conversation, curiosity, and discovery 💛
At Happy Valley, we value creating experiences that support children to feel capable, connected and confident in their environment, both within our centre and beyond.

❄️ 🌧️ Where curiosity leads, learning follows
Our Tiger Room inquiry into weather began with a simple moment, a sudden thunderstorm late last year that sparked many questions and conversations.
More recently, during a rainy day, the children wondered how an umbrella keeps us dry. This question led to an investigation, where children explored different materials to test which could protect them from the rain.
Using items like bark, bubble wrap, plastic lids and table coverings, children worked together to build their own shelters, testing their ideas by sitting underneath and observing what happened.
To extend this thinking further, children were given photos of themselves and invited to choose materials to “keep themselves dry,” testing their theories by spraying water over their creations.
Through experiences like these, children are supported to ask questions, test ideas and make sense of the world around them. This is how our inquiry projects come to life, led by children’s curiosity, thinking and wonder ✨

What a beautiful celebration of community we shared on Saturday!
Our Community Day brought children, families, and educators together to share in a range of meaningful experiences across the service. It was wonderful to see families engaging in activities, exploring alongside their children, and connecting with our wider community.
We were especially grateful to be joined by:
Our henna artist, Shreya, who created such beautiful and memorable designs throughout the day
Rotary Club of Diamond Creek for their ongoing support and presence in our community
Little Sports Heroes, who brought energy, movement, and fun for all ages
KidsPop, who filled the day with rhythm, creativity, and joy
These experiences helped create a true sense of belonging and celebration, highlighting the importance of community connections in early childhood.
A heartfelt thank you to all the families who attended and helped make the day so special. Your involvement is what makes our service feel so connected and alive.

👋 Meet the Happy Valley Family – Educator Series Pt 7
At Happy Valley, relationships are at the heart of everything we do. We believe families should feel familiar with the people caring for their children, even before they walk through our doors.
👋 Meet Lisa
Lisa is our 3-Year-Old Early Childhood Teacher at Happy Valley and brings a thoughtful, values-driven approach to her teaching each day 💛
With a strong belief that early learning environments should feel like a home away from home, Lisa is dedicated to creating a space where children feel a true sense of belonging. She values connection, collaboration and community, and works closely with families to build strong, respectful relationships that support each child’s journey.
Lisa is passionate about supporting young children as capable, curious learners. In her 3-year-old program, she focuses on fostering independence, confidence and a love for learning through play-based experiences that reflect children’s interests and developmental needs.
She places a strong emphasis on emotional wellbeing, recognising that children learn best when they feel safe, secure and supported. Lisa thoughtfully guides children through their early social and emotional development, helping them build relationships, express themselves and navigate new experiences with confidence.
Through her calm and intentional teaching style, Lisa creates a nurturing and engaging environment where every child feels seen, valued and supported as they grow and learn ✨
We love helping families get to know the people who make up the Happy Valley Family, because strong relationships are the foundation of everything we do.
