*** KINDER INFORMATION NIGHT***
Last week we hosted our Kinder Information Night, and it was a wonderful opportunity to connect with families and talk through what kindergarten looks like, how to prepare your child for this important transition, and what outcomes we aim to support for both children and families.
We explored what “ready for kinder” really means, not just academically, but socially and emotionally. We spoke about building independence, confidence, routines, and strong relationships that help children feel safe and settled in their learning environment.
Families also learned about what to expect in a typical kinder day, including play-based learning experiences, group times, outdoor learning, and how educators intentionally support each child’s development at their own pace.
We also shared the difference between sessional kindergarten and what we offer at Goodstart Early Learning. At Goodstart, we provide a long day care and kindergarten program in one setting, giving families flexibility while still delivering a high-quality, play-based learning program guided by the Early Years Learning Framework. This supports smoother transitions, consistency for children, and stronger connections between educators and families.
A big thank you to all the families who attended and engaged in the discussion. If you couldn’t make it, feel free to message us “Kinder Information Night” and we will be happy to share the presentation slides with you. 🤍😊

WOW! We are still smiling after receiving some exciting news this morning...
We were named the first place winners of the Koori Curriculum Reconciliation Competition 2026!
Thank you to Jessica Staines from The Koori Curriculum for considering us, and everyone in our community who voted for us and got behind our entry. We felt so supported by our families and community throughout the competition. It was wonderful to see the post shares and saves, knowing we are hopefully starting deeper reflections at other centres.
A big congratulations to our team at Moonee Ponds -
we are incredibly proud of you for taking on this challenge, thinking differently, and creating meaningful experiences that encouraged learning, reflection, and connection.
The journey itself taught us so much, and we're thrilled to see that our work is recognised and inspiring others 👏👏👏

Congratulations to Kripa for achieving her Full Teachers Registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching!
In Victoria, teachers are provisionally registered for 2 years after graduating with their teaching degree. As part of their pathway to becoming a fully registered teacher, they are required to demonstrate that they meet all 7 Australian Professional Standards for Teachers at the proficient level.
As you can imagine, much time and effort goes into the development of the necessary skills and knowledge to be considered a ‘proficient’ teacher.
We are very proud of the work you have done, Kripa, to achieve your full registration. Our children are only going to benefit from your passion and dedication to quality education. Please join us in congratulating Kripa's success we are so proud!

Some of our favourite books for the bigger conversations are Little Big Chats by Jayneen Sanders.
This series supports children to build confidence, understand their emotions, recognise trusted adults and develop the skills to seek help when they need it.
It helps start these conversations around topics such as
- Consent
- My Safety Network
- Private Parts are Private
- Secrets and Surprises
- Feelings
- Empathy
- Families
What are some of your favourite books that explore safety and wellbeing? Please share below so we can help our community build their library!
