Coins, competition and plenty of excitement.
Today our Junior School students came together for the annual Coin Challenge, raising funds while enjoying a little friendly competition between year levels.
Congratulations to our Year 2 students, who were crowned this year's champions with a convincing win over the other year levels. Their reward? A well-deserved icypole treat and a lunchtime disco to look forward to in Term 3.
Thank you to all of our students and families who contributed. Every coin made a difference.

A little kindness can go a long way.
This morning, our Year 12 students arrived at their lockers to find a special surprise waiting for them, a thoughtful treat and a few words of encouragement to help fuel them through the final days of Term 2.
As our senior students continue to work hard towards their goals, it was a simple but meaningful reminder that they are supported every step of the way by the staff around them.
Thank you to our beautiful staff for organising this touching gesture and for the care, encouragement and dedication they show our students each and every day.
We wish all of our Year 12 students the very best as they finish the term strong.
You've got this!

Today, our Year 1 students stepped back in time as they explored the rich history of Mernda through a walking tour of some of our community's most significant landmarks.
As part of their Knowledge Building History Unit, students visited important local sites including the Bridge Inn Hotel, Mechanics Institute, Mernda Train Station, and Turners Bakehouse. Throughout the term, students have been learning about how these places have helped shape the Mernda community we know today, and this excursion provided a wonderful opportunity to bring their learning to life.
A highlight of the day was visiting Turners Bakehouse, where students enjoyed lunch while continuing to connect with an important piece of Mernda's history.

This week, our Year 5 students experienced the coolest chemistry show at Scienceworks, exploring the fascinating world of matter through spectacular liquid nitrogen experiments.
From freezing bubbles and balloons to observing how materials change at an incredible –196°C, students investigated solids, liquids and gases, changes of state, and how temperature can cause matter to expand, contract or become brittle.
A fantastic hands-on learning experience that brought science concepts to life and sparked curiosity about the world around them.
