Canberra Excursion Day 2 continued.

Year 5 and 6 are having a great time on our Canberra excursion! Day two was full of excitement and learning. Our groups visited the Australian Electoral Education Office, the Royal Australian Mint, Old Parliament House, Parliament House and Museum of Australia. Highlights included a mock election and polling booth, as well as an opportunity to present a bill to 'Parliament' proposing that schools should all have three hours of compulsory team sports per week. The 'opposition' gave some great arguments, but ultimately, the numbers in 'Government' won and the bill was passed. Our students performed their roles with outstanding commitment! Questacon by night was an absolute hit, with all students exploring the interactive displays and enjoying the science. We are all looking forward to the Australian Institute of Sport and War Memorial before heading home tomorrow.

What an incredible day of sightseeing and educational experiences here in our Nation's Capital. We visited so many places. Highlights included the National Arboretum, National Museum and Mount Ainslie lookout.

Today we say goodbye to our wonderful TeamKids Coordinator, Sam.
Although she was only at Miranda PS for a short time, she made a lasting impact on our students, families and staff. Her warm, caring nature and dedication to the job have been greatly appreciated and she will be missed terribly.
Thank you for everything you have done for our school community. We wish you all the very best for your next adventure and know you will continue to make a positive difference wherever you go.
