A view worth building towards.
From the lower-level rumpus, gym and bedroom wing, the scale of Cape Schanck and its breathtaking outlook are on full display. With lower level structural steel now installed, the home’s form is beginning to emerge, revealing the strong linear architecture that will define the residence.
Each beam marks an important milestone, transforming the vision from drawings into reality. As the structure takes shape against the dramatic coastal landscape, the connection between architecture and environment becomes increasingly evident.

A case study of Fawkner House: Part 3
Finishing Touches. The Interior.
With construction led by Icon Synergy, the vision for Fawkner House was carried through with precision, ensuring every architectural and interior detail was realised exactly as intended.
As the build progressed, Kathryn reconnected with the clients through Vibe Design Group to curate the final layers of the home, furniture procurement, placement, and styling that complemented the original design vision.
The result is a home that feels calm, refined, and deeply connected to its coastal setting. A seamless collaboration between design, construction, and interior direction, from first conversation to final detail.

A case study of Fawkner House: Part 2
First Thought. Call the Builder. Before the design process began, it started with the land.
When this premium Blairgowrie site became available, Michael O’Sullivan immediately recognised its potential, with sweeping views across Camerons Bight becoming the defining feature of the home’s direction.
The greatest challenge? A steep rear slope that demanded careful planning from the outset. Through early engineering consultation and a highly resolved design approach, the swimming pool was elevated to connect directly with the main living space, allowing the home to fully embrace its coastal outlook.
Every move was intentional. Every space designed to feel connected to water, light, and landscape.

From Concept to Completion - A case study of Fawkner House: Part 1
A collaboration between Vibe Design Group and Icon Synergy, where considered design meets high-end construction on the Mornington Peninsula.
Set on one of Blairgowrie’s most premium coastal sites, Fawkner House was designed to respond directly to its surroundings, framing views toward Camerons Bight while embracing the challenges of a steeply sloping block.
From the earliest concept sketches through to the finished home, every decision was guided by clarity of vision, careful spatial planning, and a deeply collaborative process between design and build.
A home shaped by landscape, coastal living, and modernist-inspired thinking.

Vibe design Group’s luxury modernist response to one of Cape Schanck’s most challenging sites.
Our approach to the design of the Cape Schanck Residence was to elevate the built form to minimise disturbance while maximising the panoramic views. Defined by clarity of structure, restraint in materiality, and a strong horizontal expression, the design delivers a refined and resolved outcome in a highly complex setting.

Originally designed for a Kew site, this concept draws on the clarity of Mies van der Rohe’s Barcelona Pavilion, where structure, material and landscape sit in quiet balance.
Defined by openness, clean lines and a seamless connection to water and greenery.
Though unbuilt, its principles continue to inform our Gold Coast projects, light-filled homes shaped by climate, connection, and flow between indoors and out.
