π²β½ Lunchtime Fun at Morphett Vale East School β½π¨
Thereβs always something happening around the school during lunchtime! From sports and games to creative activities and quiet spaces with friends, our students have lots of opportunities to connect, be active and have fun during their break times. π
Lunchtime activities help build friendships, teamwork, confidence and a positive school community while giving students a chance to explore their interests outside the classroom. π
πͺβ¨ Fresh from the Oven! β¨πͺ
Our students put their planning, measuring and food preparation skills into action as they made delicious chocolate chip cookies. From carefully following the recipe to mixing ingredients and shaping the dough, students worked collaboratively and confidently through each step of the process. π₯£π«
Hands-on experiences like these support students to develop practical skills, following instructions, measuring, problem-solving, teamwork and independence.
The best part was sharing the finished product and celebrating their success together! ππͺ

π₯£ Breakfast Club πβ¨
A great start to the day helps students feel ready to learn. Our Breakfast Club provides students with a welcoming space each morning to enjoy breakfast, connect with others and prepare for a positive day at school. βοΈ
Thank you to everyone who helps support this important program for our school community. π
βοΈπ« Solar Ovens in Action! π¬
As part of their Science inquiry, students designed and built their own solar ovens to investigate how light energy can be transformed into heat energy.
After finally getting a break in the weather, the class put the ovens to the test making s'mores! π€οΈπ
Despite the outside temperature being just 11Β°C, the ovens reached temperatures of 20β30Β°C. Students observed the chocolate soften and warm, providing real-world evidence of how solar energy can be harnessed and converted into heat.
Hands-on investigations like these encourage curiosity, critical thinking and problem-solving, bringing Science to life in meaningful (and delicious!) ways.

In Science, Mr Wildy's class investigated how the force applied to an object affects the distance it travels! π§ͺπ
We focused on making our tests fair, keeping conditions the same, and ensuring our measuring was accurate. Before we began, we each made thoughtful predictions β and it was exciting to see our scientific thinking in action!
Hands-on learning like this helps us build curiosity, critical thinking, and a deeper understanding of how the world works. π¬β¨
