🍴✨ Share Plate Friday! ✨🍴
At Sagewood Dayton, we know that taking time to connect with one another is just as important as the work we do each day. This week’s Share Plate Friday was a wonderful opportunity for our team to enjoy some delicious treats, share a laugh, and take a well-deserved moment to recharge.
Building a strong workplace culture is all about the little things – creating opportunities to connect, celebrate each other, and strengthen the relationships that make our team so special.
A big thank you to everyone who contributed and helped make today’s spread so amazing.

Last week we were delighted to welcome Tenille Bentley the founder of the Emotional Literacy and Mindfulness Academy and our ELMA program.
During her visits Tenille collaborates with our educators, sharing some valuable insights into the ELMA philosophy. Our Children’s House children were very lucky to participate in the “Ariel the Tree” activity led by Tenille.
This activity promotes mindfulness, emotional literacy and a strong sense of well being.
We are so fortunate to have the ongoing support and guidance from Tenille. Having direct access to the founder of the ELMA program provides our educators with invaluable opportunities to deepen their understanding of emotional literacy and wellbeing practices 🩵🌿

Caring for Country Through Children’s Hands ❤️💛🖤
During Reconciliation Week, the children explored Australian animals through a hands-on clay experience inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach.
As they created with clay, the children developed their creativity, fine motor skills and self-expression while learning about the animals that share the land where we live. The experience also provided opportunities for conversations about caring for Country, respect for the environment and appreciation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures.
Through open-ended, child-led experiences such as this, children are encouraged to explore, create and connect with the world around them.

đź’› Wear It Yellow Week đź’›
This week, as part of Wear It Yellow, the children were invited to design and paint their own yellow shirts using Indigenous-inspired stamps and patterns.
Through this creative experience, the children explored colour, creativity, and culture while learning about the importance of celebrating and supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities.
We loved seeing each child’s unique design come to life and the pride they showed in creating their special shirts.

Rain? What rain? 🌧️🚲
Today, our little adventurers embraced the wet weather and had an absolute blast riding their bikes through the rain in their wetsuits! There was no shortage of smiles, laughter and excitement as they splashed through puddles, explored the outdoor environment and enjoyed the freedom of active play.
Experiences like these help children build confidence, resilience, coordination and a connection with the natural world. Sometimes the best learning happens when we step outside, get a little wet and simply enjoy the moment.
We loved seeing the children’s joy and enthusiasm as they made the most of a rainy day!

Today we proudly participated in National Simultaneous Storytime 📚✨
Our children gathered together to enjoy this year’s special story alongside thousands of other children and educators across Australia, celebrating the joy of reading, imagination and connection through storytelling.
Storytime is such a meaningful part of our day, supporting children’s language development, early literacy skills, creativity and love for books from a young age. It was wonderful to see the children so engaged, excited and involved throughout the experience. 💛
We love creating opportunities like this that bring our learning community together and inspire a lifelong love of reading.
