Last week, we had the opportunity to be guests for the "On The Couch" conversation for Pride Month with the team at .coop
What stood out the most wasn't the rainbow balloons, the stage setup (Ashara reckons the couch was comfy by the way) or even the turnout (which was impressive).
๐๐ ๐๐ฎ๐ ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐ฐ๐๐ฟ๐ถ๐ผ๐๐ถ๐๐.
People leaned in.
People asked questions.
People wanted to understand experiences different from their own.
Weren't noticing something shifting.
The most effective organisations aren't trying to become experts overnight. They're creating environments where people feel comfortable enough to learn. Because inclusion isn't built through perfect language or having all the answers.
It's built when people are willing to ask questions, listen to different perspectives, challenge assumptions and stay in conversations, even when they're uncomfortable.
That's where real change happens.
Thank you to Capricorn for creating space for honest conversations and recognising that inclusion isn't just about who is in the room - it's about how people experience being in the room.
This is the kind of action that continues to drive our work.

๐ Today we had the pleasure of spending time with the amazing teams at headspace Fremantle and Rockingham, diving into the intersection of LGBTIQA+ and multicultural communities. ๐ฌโจ
And what better way to celebrate IDAHOBIT than by having meaningful conversations that help create safer, more inclusive communities and services for everyone.
Together we explored the importance of building trust and creating spaces where people feel seen, respected and genuinely welcomed.
We unpacked topics including:
๐ญ Unconscious bias and how it can show up in our work
๐ Intersectionality and the many identities people hold
๐ค Building trust and meaningful connections with communities
๐งฉ Navigating the complexities and nuances that can exist at the intersection of culture, identity, family, faith and lived experience
There is no one size fits all approach to inclusion. The more we listen, learn and stay curious, the better equipped we are to support people in ways that honour their whole selves.
A big thank you to the headspace Fremantle and Rockingham crew for bringing your openness, thoughtful discussions and willingness to lean into the conversations that matter.

Had such a great time delivering our Multicultural LGBTIQA+ Training with the incredible team at
Together, we explored what it means to create culturally safe, inclusive and affirming environments for LGBTIQA+ young people from multicultural backgrounds because identity is never just one thing, and support shouldnโt be either.
From curious conversations to thoughtful reflections, it was clear just how committed this team is to showing up for their community in meaningful ways ๐
A big thank you to headspace Mandurah for your openness, curiosity and genuine care.

๐ฅ๐ Big learning. Real conversations. Powerful connection. ๐๐ฅ
Last week we visted the Community and Population Health team at East Metropolitan Health Services to deliver training focused on building culturally safe and affirming healthcare for LGBTIQA+SB people.
Together, we worked through:
โข Creating culturally safe and affirming environments in healthcare
โข Understanding barriers to healthcare access
โข Applying intersectionality in real world practice
โข Responding to disclosures with care and confidence
โข Practical ways to better support trans and gender diverse people
One of the most impactful parts of the day was hearing from one of our own, Ruby, an openly trans woman, who shared her lived experience navigating healthcare. Creating space for attendees to connect directly with her. To ask honest, respectful questions that led to some incredibly powerful learning.
This is at the heart of the work Letโs Q***r The Air does: combining practical, evidence informed training with meaningful connection to lived experience, so learning moves beyond theory and into genuine understanding.
The feedback we received was too good not to share! Have a look at some of the post session feedback responses we got ๐โโ๏ธ
Massive thank you to the Community and Population Health team at East Metropolitan Health Services for leaning in, asking thoughtful questions and committing to better outcomes for the community and colleagues alike ๐๐ฅ

At Letโs Q***r The Air, Wear It Purple Day is close to our hearts.
Our CEO & Founder, Ashara Wills, shares why:
โGrowing up, I thought being a le***an was shameful. I tried to fit into a mould that was never meant for me. Everyone saw me as the bubbly, happy go lucky person but inside, the struggle was real and often overwhelming. This lead to severe mental
health struggles. I was lost and couldnโt see a way through it.โ
I Wear It Purple to show young people, families, carers, and everyone in between that support is here, that you are loved, valued, and can thrive by being your true self. Something I wish was visible to me when I was younger"
Weโre not just wearing purple weโre working with workplaces and communities to create spaces where young people feel safe to be themselves. ๐
๐ฉ Ready to bring meaningful conversations into your workplace or community? Get in touch, we'd love to work with you.
