Last week the children enjoyed a variety of engaging and hands-on learning experiences. In our gardening activities, the children explored the outdoor environment and helped to water the plants, digging the soil and learning how flowers and vegetables grow .The children were excited to discover that our pet snails had laid eggs the children observed the snails closely . This has sparked wonderful conversations and encouraged observation skills, we can’t wait for our baby snails to hatch.
Messy play was a highlight of the week providing opportunities for sensory exploration and creativity. We had our cooking class with Venni on Thursday and the children made healthy wraps for their lunch., they looked delicious!
Overall the children had a fun filled week of learning through play ,exploration and discovery. We look forward to another exciting week ahead.

We love Wednesdays with Miss Jacqui from Happy Feet Fitness! The children engage in fun and interactive classes based around different themes and learn something new each week. This week the children learnt the bug dance, had some fun with the wriggly worm puppets, and talked about bugs we see around each day. The children then went on a Bug Hunt, a fun and engaging obstacle course, where the children explored taking turns balancing, climbing and crawling.

As we have been reflecting on reconciliation week at Hocking Stars Gungurru . Our amazing cook Venni set up a hands on cooking experience. Where the children made their very own Damper for afternoon tea. Through hands on learning children develop a knowledge of healthy food choices and to practice their fine motor skills, follow simple instructions and work collaboratively with their peers. This experience supports element 2.1.3- health lifestyle.

On Wednesday 27th May, we celebrated National Simultaneous Storytime. This year’s story was “Luna Roo the Kangaroo Baller” written by Adam Jackson and Adrian Lloyd and illustrated by Jake A. Minton.
Following the story, our Nursery and Tiny Tots children enjoyed a special visit from Wanneroo Library, where they listened to books and music and sang along as the librarian played the songs on the piano.
Today, Wednesday 3rd June, our Toddlers and Kindy children welcomed the Wanneroo Library team for another engaging session. They enjoyed listening to stories and participating in songs that connected with our current planning cycle, helping to extend their learning through literacy, language, and creative expression.
