Registrations are now open for STAWA Physics Day 2026 at Adventure World! Join more than 1,000 Year 10–12 Physics students from across Western Australia for an unforgettable day of hands-on learning, where classroom concepts come to life on some of the park's biggest and fastest rides.

Students will investigate motion, forces, energy and circular motion, collect real-world data using wearable accelerometers, complete curriculum-aligned investigations, and apply their understanding of physics in an exciting real-world setting.

🚀 Science Talent Search 2026 Receives STEM Engagement Funding

We’re excited to announce that Science Talent Search (STS) has received support through the Western Australian Government’s 2026 STEM Engagement Sponsorship Program.

This funding will help expand opportunities for students across Western Australia to engage with science, engineering and innovation through authentic, project-based learning experiences.

Science Talent Search provides students from Kindergarten to Year 12 with the opportunity to investigate real-world questions, develop STEM skills, think creatively and showcase their ideas through Science Investigation, Engineering and Science Communication projects.

With support from the Department of Energy and Economic Diversification, STAWA will continue working to increase participation and improve access to high-quality STEM opportunities for students in metropolitan, regional and remote communities.

🔬 Calling all Primary Science Teachers (PP–Year 6)!

Join STAWA’s Primary Science Committee for a full-day professional learning workshop focused on developing Science Inquiry Skills through Fair Test Investigations.

This practical workshop will explore:
• Backward planning for science investigations
• Testable questions and predictions
• Fair testing strategies
• Data collection and organisation
• Tables and graph selection
• Simple data analysis techniques

Teachers will develop their own understanding of Science Inquiry and gain practical, classroom-ready strategies to build student confidence through the primary years.
