@Toastmasters District 17
Toastmasters District 17 is a part of Toastmasters International a non-profit organisation which helps its members gain confidence whilst learning communication and leadership skills.
What would you do with more confidence?
Speak up in meetings.
Nail a job interview.
Give the speech everyone remembers.
Lead with confidence.
Meet new people and build new connections.
Confidence isn't something you're born with. It's something you build.
Every week, people across Western Australia visit a Toastmasters meeting to practise speaking, leadership and communication in a supportive environment.

🎉 Congratulations to our newest Distinguished Toastmaster — Juliana Kelly DTM! 🎉
District 17 proudly celebrates Juliana Kelly on achieving the prestigious Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM) award — the highest educational recognition in Toastmasters.
At last week’s inspiring Bridge to the Future District 17 Conference, Juliana was presented with her Distinguished Toastmaster band by District Director Tom Bielski, surrounded by many of District 17’s Distinguished Toastmasters — a truly special and memorable moment. 🌟
For Juliana, this achievement represents far more than completing projects or earning a title. It reflects 10 years of growth, courage, leadership, service and connection through Toastmasters.
“DTM is not about being the best speaker in the room. It’s about growth, consistency, contribution and stepping outside your comfort zone one small step at a time.”
From a nervous speaker who doubted herself to a confident communicator, mentor and leader, Juliana’s journey is a powerful reminder of what is possible when we simply keep showing up.
Along the way, she credits mentors, club members and the Toastmasters community for helping shape her journey — especially through opportunities including Speechcraft, bilingual clubs and mentoring others.
One of the greatest skills she developed?
✨ Communicating with clarity and empathy.
✨ Learning to truly connect with people.
✨ Growing through service and leadership.
Now, what excites Juliana most is giving back — helping others discover their voice and confidence through Toastmasters.
Congratulations Juliana on this remarkable achievement and thank you for the inspiration, encouragement and leadership you bring to District 17. 💙💛

National Volunteer Week may soon be over — but our appreciation certainly isn’t. 💙💛
Across District 17, Toastmasters volunteers continue to make an extraordinary difference every single week.
From welcoming guests at the door…
To mentoring new speakers…
Running meetings, contests and training…
Supporting clubs behind the scenes…
Organising events, websites, newsletters, social media, finances and education…
To simply encouraging someone to believe in themselves —
Every role matters. Every contribution counts.
Toastmasters is built entirely by volunteers.
People who generously give their time, skills, encouragement and leadership to help others grow in confidence, communication and connection.
Some volunteer quietly behind the scenes.
Some lead from the front.
Some simply show up consistently and help create a supportive space where people feel they belong.
Together, these efforts create something truly special.
To every member, club officer, mentor, district leader, helper, organiser, judge, timer, grammarian, photographer, trainer, committee member and supporter —
Thank you.
You are helping build stronger communicators, stronger leaders and stronger communities. 🌟
