Clear skies, dry tracks and an incredible show of House spirit set the stage for today’s Interhouse Carnival, with Mercedes students taking to the HPC athletics field.
It was a special day for our community, the very first carnival for our Year 7s and the final one for the graduating Class of 2026. From start to finish, the day was filled with determination, energy and College pride.
A huge congratulations to all students who took part. The atmosphere on the track was electric, and it was fantastic to see everyone giving their all and supporting one another.
Thank you to Capture MC for live streaming the event for our parent community, and to our dedicated staff and student helpers who made the day possible.
We look forward to seeing you all tomorrow for the annual Ponytail Project, where 44 Mercedes students will cut their hair in support of those impacted by cancer.

Next Wednesday, June 17, Sasha will be cutting 20cm from her hair as part of the Mercedes College Ponytail Project.
Motivated by seeing people close to her face cancer treatment, Sasha is taking this step to give back, donating her hair and raising funds to support the vital work of Cancer Council and future research.
She has already raised $929 towards her goal. Help Sasha, and all of our Ponytail Project participants, make an even bigger impact by donating via the link in our bio 💛

This weekend, Sat 13 June, Mercedes College will host its annual Music Eisteddfod, a vibrant celebration of our students’ musical talent.
Featuring over 170 students across 129 performances, audiences can enjoy a diverse program of solos, duets and ensembles, with everything from double bass and drum kit to trumpet and voice.
This free, non-ticketed, event offers the students the opportunity to perform and receive feedback from professional adjudicators, all while sharing their passion with the wider community.
Join us as we celebrate the talent of our Mercedes musicians as they take to the stage this Saturday!

Wellbeing has been a strong focus across the College during this exam period, as our Year 10–12 students round out the term with their examinations.
For this Wellness Wednesday, we’re highlighting our Year 10 students, who are currently on day two of their exams, with assessments continuing throughout this week and into early next week. Before heading into their exams, they took some time to pause at the Kindness Café in the Performing Arts Centre.
There, they were treated to personalised cookies and cups, each thoughtfully prepared by their Pastoral Care teachers with their names, positive qualities, and affirmations.
Moments like these give students the opportunity to reset and refocus, helping them approach their exams feeling calmer, more confident, and ready to do their best.
We wish all students the very best as they continue their exams, and congratulate those who have already completed theirs over the past month.
