Thank a First Responder Day - this morning, we were lucky to have one of our parents facilitate an amazing experience for our children. They were able to ask questions, hear the sirens explore inside both police vehicles.

Some of the children were definitely hesitant, but experiences like this help them to learn where to go for help, and that people such as the police are not scary!

We have also been engaging with some other fun activities this week involving first responders like firefighters and paramedics! 🧑‍⚕️ 🩺 🔥

This Reconciliation Week at Piccolo we are taking time to learn, create, connect and show our support - from nature play and creative experiences to wearing yellow together as a community 💛

National Simultaneous Story Time! 📖

Today, Piccolo ELC joined in national simultaneous story time 2026, reading Luna Roo the Kangaroo Baller! This is all about fun reading, and creating a shared early literacy learning experience 🦘 📕

Piccolo ELC are participating in ‘wear it Yellow’ for Reconciliation week 2026. Gold coin donations are requested which will go towards the ‘children’s ground’ charity 27 MAY - 3 JUNE 💛💛💛

🐠 Our fish tank has become a special part of so many children’s routines as they say ‘hello’ and ‘good bye’ every day!

Sometimes the children help to feed and will often come to watch the fish swimming around, pointing out where they may be hiding and eating as well as what colours they are and how many there are.

These moments help children build sense of belonging and responsibility as well as sparking curiosity and conversation 🌱🪸

Farewell to the lovely Jo!!

After 6 years Jo has officially left Piccolo! With sad goodbyes bring new adventures and we wish Jo all the very best for her future! 🤍

To celebrate the end of Ramadan last week, our children engaged in a range of sensory and art&craft activities.

Landing perfectly during harmony week, we spent the day yesterday celebrating St. Patricks day with fun activities, music and dressing in green for the occasion! ☘️ 🌈
