If you've been curious about No Lights No Lycra but haven't quite made it through the door yet, this one's for you!

You don't need to know how to dance. There's no choreography, no moves to follow, no one watching. The lights go off and you just move however feels right. That really is the whole thing.

The dark is genuine, by the way. Not mood lighting. Actually dark. Dark enough that you stop thinking about what you look like and start actually being in your body. It's a surprisingly big difference.

We also want to make sure cost is never the reason someone doesn't come. Tickets are $15 standard or $12 concession, companion cards are welcome, and we have a community fund for when pennies are tight. If that's you, just reach out. We mean it. 🖤

Every Monday night at Leederville Town Hall. Two sessions: 6:30–7:30pm or 7:45–8:45pm. Book via the link below!

Come once and see what happens!

The night after Silent Disco in January, I was voice-noting my best mate in London about it, and somewhere in the middle of rambling at her, I had a bit of an epiphany!

A friend suggested I set a reminder to listen back in six months - this morning, that reminder went off.

And wow. Fair warning, there’s tears 😭😂 In listening I’m reminded how powerful and beautiful our community is, and how tangible it was that night. I’m reminded that dancing together and experiencing joy - that is a radical act.

Rest is resistance.
Singing is radical!
Joyful movement is protest!
Connection is vital.

I feel so grateful to be doing radical s**t with you. Here’s the voicenote 🎶🎧💌

Today marks TEN YEARS since we farewell our first NLNL home at St Brigids and moved to Leederville Town Hall 🏠 This place, with its blaring toilet lights, finicky sound system and floorboards I was always kind of scared we were going to put a hole in, will always have a super special place in my heart 💝 I love that many faces in this photo are still regulars at NLNL!! Did you dance with us there??

COMING UP AT NLNL 542 ✨ 25-05-2026
🥇 Waterloo – ABBA // Personally this is where I channel my best Muriel Heslop.

🫧 Underneath the Radar – Underworld // This is one of the few tracks I’ll break my self-imposed ‘no tracks longer than 5 minutes rule’ for – and I never regret doing it!

🪩 One More Time – Daft Punk // I love the slow builds in this one, it just make me feel so nice!

And these benefits include 😻 improved emotional wellbeing 👏 less depression 🤓 better motivation 💪 sharper memory 💭 and a general sense of walking out the door feeling like a different person 💫

University of Sydney research found dancing is at least as effective as other exercise for mental health - and sometimes better. Any genre of dance, at any age!

🥼🧪🔬I’m no scientist, but after doing this for nearly 12 years, I concur! 🤝

✅ Come and join the experiment, Monday nights at Leederville Town Hall. It’s just dancing in the dark, but it’s super good for all the things!
