Last week, we were delighted to welcome the WA Police Force to our service for a special incursion for an extension of our learning following Thank a First Responder Day.
The children were excited to explore a real police vehicle, learn about the important role police officers play in keeping our communities safe, and investigate some of the equipment they use in their everyday work. Experiences such as these provide valuable opportunities for children to build connections with community helpers, ask questions, and develop a deeper understanding of the people who support and protect us.
A special thank you to one of our wonderful Kindy families for helping to make this experience possible. It was incredibly meaningful for the children to see one of their peers proudly showcase the important role their dad plays in serving our community.
We are grateful for the opportunity to strengthen children's understanding of community, belonging, and citizenship through authentic, real world experiences.

As part of their ongoing sustainability project, Classroom 4 have been deeply exploring the importance of water and the role it plays in supporting living environments. This week, the children took a walk across our man made ocean, engaging in meaningful conversations and observations about what may live beneath the surface.
Throughout the experience, the children shared their ideas and theories about marine animals, their habitats, and how oceans provide homes and food sources for many living creatures. Educators supported the children in extending their understanding through discussions around caring for our environment, the impact of water pollution, and ways we can help protect our waterways and marine life.
The experience encouraged curiosity, critical thinking, and environmental awareness while also supporting language development and collaborative learning. Through hands-on exploration and inquiry based discussions, the children are developing a growing understanding of sustainability and the importance of caring for the world around them. 🌿

Last week during our team meeting, our educators participated in a professional development yoga training session facilitated through YogaMigos. The session focused on the importance of mindfulness, emotional regulation, and deep breathing practices within early childhood education, while also equipping educators with a range of simple yoga movements and strategies that can be incorporated into everyday practice with young children.
Throughout the training, the team explored how yoga and mindfulness experiences can support children’s overall wellbeing by promoting self-awareness, resilience, body coordination, and relaxation. Educators were guided through practical techniques designed to help children develop calming strategies, strengthen their ability to regulate emotions, and build confidence through movement and intentional breathing exercises.
The session also highlighted the value of creating calm, responsive learning environments where children feel supported to pause, reflect, and connect with their bodies and emotions. Our team greatly valued the opportunity to further extend their knowledge and develop meaningful practices that can be embedded into daily routines to support the holistic development and wellbeing of our young learners. 🌿
