Harrisdale SHS's vision is to be a school of excellence in teaching and learning.

Harrisdale Senior High School School opened in February 2017 with a Year 7 student intake. Located 26 kilometres south-east of the Perth CBD, this magnificent new facility offers families access to a high-quality secondary education in their local community. The suburb of Harrisdale is named after the Harris family who moved into the area around 1898. The family were among the first settlers locally and owned 240 acres bounded by Warton and Wright Roads.

⚒️✨ 𝐖𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐨! ⚒️✨

Last week on Wednesday, some of our Year 9 and 10 students spent the day at the 𝐖𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐨 at 𝐓𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐧𝐥𝐢𝐞 𝐓𝐀𝐅𝐄, exploring pathways in industries like construction, engineering and mining.

They took part in hands‑on activities, toured the campus and had the chance to speak directly with employers and training providers — gaining real insight into what a future in trades could look like.

An inspiring day that opened doors, built confidence and outlined the incredible opportunities available to young women in non‑traditional industries. 💪🔧

🎶✨ 𝐌𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐜 𝐍𝐄𝐖𝐒! 𝐀𝐧 𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐬. 🎶✨

Last week we hosted our 𝑬𝒗𝒆𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒐𝒇 𝑺𝒐𝒍𝒐𝒔 — an intimate night celebrating a talented group of student soloist performers, and the friends and family who came to cheer them on.

It was a beautiful showcase of music, with every performer demonstrating not just skill and hard work, but real artistry and courage on stage. A truly special night for our school community. 👏💫

🎉⚡ 𝐁𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐒𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐢𝐞𝐬: 𝐆𝐢𝐫𝐥𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐍𝐨𝐧‑𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐬! 🎉⚡

A group of our Year 9 girls spent the day at 𝐍𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐡 𝐌𝐞𝐭𝐫𝐨 𝐓𝐀𝐅𝐄 in Balga, getting hands‑on experience in the electrical industry — and they absolutely powered through it!

In this Career Taster, they learnt what it’s really like to work as an electrician, completing wiring tasks, assembling light boards and testing their work just like real apprentices. The program gave students a chance to build confidence, try new skills and explore pathways they may not have considered before.

A fantastic experience that lit up their curiosity and showed just how bright their futures can be in non‑traditional trades. ⚡🔧

🎥✨ 𝐎𝐮𝐫 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐰𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐛𝐞𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐭 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐥 𝟗 𝐍𝐄𝐖𝐒!

Yesterday a select group of Year 8 Media students went on an excursion that gave them the chance to step inside the Channel 9 News Studios and experience how real news is created, produced and broadcast.

They explored the studio floor, witnessed the technology in action, and even met people who bring the news to life every day. It was an exciting, hands‑on way to connect classroom learning with the real media industry. Our students were featured at the end of the segment as part of their tour too!

A fantastic opportunity to spark curiosity, build confidence and inspire future storytellers. 🌟
