Today we celebrated Italian National Day with a delicious Spaghetti Bolognese lunch prepared by our amazing chef! ππ
The children thoroughly enjoyed the experience, and as part of promoting independence and confidence, they continue to self-serve their meals. It was wonderful to see them enjoying a taste of Italy with their friends.
Learning through food is a great way to explore different cultures, and today was a fantastic opportunity for our little ones to experience a small part of Italian heritage.

At Kids Academy ELC Balga, our children came together to acknowledge National Sorry Day (26 May 2026) and National Reconciliation Week (27 May-06 June) through meaningful collaborative artworks. β€οΈπ€π
Through collaborative footprint displays, handprint artworks, Indigenous puzzles, storytelling, cultural resources, music and creative experiences, our children explored the importance of respect, belonging, kindness, and connection. Each footprint, handprint, and artwork represented a step towards walking together and learning about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures, and histories.
At Kids Academy, we believe little hands, little voices, and little footsteps can help build a future of understanding, respect, and unity.

Have you heard of ELMA and why itβs so important for young children? ELMA Education - Emotional Literacy & Mindfulness Academy
ELMA-Emotional Literacy Mindset Academy supports children to understand their feelings, build resilience, and develop a positive mindset from an early age. These skills are essential for forming relationships, managing emotions, and navigating everyday challenges.
Each week, our babies and toddlers (0β3 years) focus on one emotion at a time. Implementing this helps to embed the learning, whilst allowing the children to build familiarity, make connections, and feel more confident in identifying and expressing their emotions. Over time, these consistent experiences help instil strong emotional awareness and early self-regulation skills.
Itβs wonderful to see even our youngest learners developing these important foundations for lifelong wellbeing π

Nature Turns Into Art! πΏβ¨
The children had so much fun getting creative with natural resources.
Using leaves, sticks, flowers, and other little treasures, they designed their very own faces! Each creation was unique and full of personality, sparking imagination, laughter, and plenty of conversation.
Experiences like this support creativity, problem-solving, and help children build a strong connection with the natural world around them.
We loved seeing their ideas come to life! π

πΊ Our Anzac Day week πΊ
Weβve been busy exploring ANZAC Day through fun and meaningful activities.
The children enjoyed making poppies, sharing stories, and learning about kindness, friendship, and helping others. We also spent a little quiet time reflecting together in a gentle, age-appropriate way.
Introducing special events like ANZAC Day helps children begin to understand the world around them while building respect and connection to our community.
We loved seeing their creativity and curiosity shine this week β€οΈ
