Our Year 12 students gained valuable real-world financial knowledge this week from Accounting and Finance teacher Sarah Pearce.
Before becoming a teacher, Sarah worked as a tax accountant with Ernst & Young, bringing a wealth of professional experience to her engaging presentation, Tax Tips. The session covered everything from applying for a Tax File Number and setting up MyGov, to understanding tax returns and superannuation.
The presentation received excellent feedback from the students, who appreciated the practical advice as they prepare for life beyond school. The students will hear from Sarah again later this year to share her insights on investing.

A favourite event among students, staff and parents alike, the Year 7 Market Day had the Middle School Quad buzzing this morning as our industrious Year 7 boys put their business acumen to the test.
The market is the culmination of the boys’ Term 2 Economics and Business unit, where they are given $20 in start-up capital to create, market and run their own small business.
From 3D-printed toys and pot plants to nachos, homemade biltong and plenty of sweet treats, the stalls showcased creativity, initiative and entrepreneurial spirit.
Over the coming days, our young entrepreneurs will tally their profits, with all proceeds being donated to Our Ocean School.

There’s a real buzz in the Forrest Library at the moment as we celebrate all things World Cup! A special display showcases a fantastic selection of soccer-themed books, helping spark curiosity and encourage reading by connecting literature with the boys’ passions and popular culture interests.
Following yesterday’s inspiring performance by the Socceroos, the display has grown even bigger with the addition of a brand new Socceroos shrine. What an incredible game! The excitement around the tournament has certainly brought plenty of boys into the library to read, chat football and discover new books.

Today our Lower Junior Centre had a visit from Police Sergeant Evan Damianopoulos, a District Community and Youth Engagement Officer. He spoke to the boys about the importance of showing respect, using manners, and wearing their school uniform with pride, just as the police do. These have been key areas of focus for the Pre-primary, Year 1 and Year 2 boys this term.
Sergeant Damianopoulos was joined by a cadet who is currently training with the Police Force, and the boys were mesmerised by them both in full uniform. Thank you to these police officers for generously sharing their time and wisdom.

Today our Year 5 boys stepped right up for Circus Day! 🎪
Led by trained instructors from Bizircus, the boys rotated through a series of exciting hands-on workshops that supported their learning in Drama and Visual Arts.
Throughout the day, students developed confidence, creativity, teamwork, coordination and performance skills, while gaining a deeper understanding of circus arts. It was wonderful to see the boys challenge themselves, encourage one another and embrace the fun of learning something new.
