Our travels around the world this week took us to Africa! π«
The children had so much fun exploring the wonders of Africa through a safari adventure where they discovered incredible animals including giraffes, elephants, monkeys, lions and some very cute meerkats. π¦πππ¦
We also put our baking skills to work by making delicious lion biscuits for afternoon tea, which were a big hit! πͺ
The learning continued as the children stepped into the role of African veterinarians caring for animals and learning about the important work vets do to help wildlife stay healthy and safe. β€οΈ
It has been a wonderful week. Can't wait to see where we land next! π

β¨ Did you know that tracing shapes is actually a secret superpower for toddlers? β¨
Before little ones can write letters, they need to master lines and curves! Tracing shapes is the perfect way to build those foundational skills.
Here is what is happening behind the scenes when your toddler traces a circle or a square:
βοΈ Pencil Control: They are practicing how to grip and move a pencil.
πͺ Fine Motor Strength: It builds the tiny hand muscles needed for writing.
π§ Spatial Awareness: They learn how shapes change direction and fit together.
It is not about perfect linesβit is about building confidence and muscle memory for the future! πβοΈ

π΅π²π½ Our travel adventures continued as we journeyed to Mexico!
The children immersed themselves in Mexican culture through a variety of hands on experiences. We set up our very own taco shop, explored traditional dress ups with colourful ponchos and sombreros, and learned about cacti found in the Mexican landscape. π΅
To top it all off, the children enjoyed tasting churros with chocolate, and bravely tried a little chilli too! πΆ
Another fun filled week of learning, exploring and experiencing a new part of the world. π

π€πβ€οΈ During Reconciliation Week, our children participated in a special collaborative art experience inspired by the meaning of Wirrabirra.
Together, we explored the words "Wirra" meaning tree π³ and "Birra" meaning running water π§. The children collected natural materials that had fallen to the ground, including bark, twigs, leaves and sand, and worked together to create a beautiful mural. Using their hands, they represented flowing water and used the natural resources to form a tree. β¨οΈ
This meaningful experience encouraged creativity, collaboration and a connection to nature while providing an opportunity to learn about and celebrate Aboriginal culture and perspectives. π€πβ€οΈ

Week 5 took us to America πΊπ²
This week we learned about some of America's famous landmarks including the Statue of Liberty and the White House. The children were fascinated to discover that there are 377 stairs to the top of the statue of Liberty's crown! π
To bring our learning to life, we transformed our home corner into a hotdog and hamburger stand, created our own crowns and enjoyed hot dogs for afternoon tea. π π
Any guesses as to where we are travelling to next? π
