In 1983, the Bucciarelli family purchased their very first crane from John’s Engineering & Cranes, marking the beginning of their families business journey in the lifting industry.
In 1989, Tony Bucciarelli followed in his father’s footsteps, backing his own vision and purchasing his very first crane, it was a risk with no promise of stable return, but with perseverance and hard work his success story continued the business into something even bigger.
Then in 2011, GCSWA was born, continuing the family legacy into a new era of growth, capability, and innovation.
What makes this story special is that each generation approached business differently. Different strategies. Different tactics. Different challenges.
But each found success in their own way.
The first generation built the foundations through hard work and determination.
The second generation expanded by slowly investing in more assets, growing the fleet, and building a strong team around the business.
The third evolved the business for a modern industry while carrying forward the same core values.
It’s a reminder that there is no single formula for success across generations. The market changes. Technology changes. Customers change.
But strong values, commitment to people, and a willingness to adapt can carry a business forward for decades.

This month, we go back in time in celebration of our 15-year milestone, we’d like to share a little more about our history; the people, the journey, and the moments that shaped General Crane Services WA.
DID YOU KNOW?
For GCSWA, cranes aren’t just a business, they’re part of a family legacy.
The story stretches back three generations. From grandfather to father, and now to sons, cranes have been a constant thread through the family’s working life. What started as hands-on experience and hard-earned knowledge in the industry has evolved into something much bigger, a shared passion carried forward with pride and purpose.
In 2011, that legacy took shape in a new way with the founding of General Crane Services WA Pty Ltd. Built on the same values passed down through generations ; integrity, hard work, and respect for the people that supports your journey.
Today, that legacy continues to guide everything we do.
Lifting the standard, 3 generations and counting...
