A post from Ms Findlay: Day 1 was the perfect start to camp, with a smooth drive down and warm, sunny weather all day!
Our first destination was the Phillip Island Chocolate Factory, where students took part in a behind-the-scenes tour of the manufacturing process. After arriving at our accommodation, we set out on a 7km walk along Cape Woolamai, which provided some excellent views of the entire island. One student summed it up perfectly: “Miss, this is like looking at Google Maps in real life.”
The final instalment of the day was a huge treat: we got to see the Little Penguins trekking across the beach and walking through the sand dunes!
A few keen World Cup-following students even joined some of the teachers at 6am this morning to watch England win 4–2 against Croatia in their first World Cup match for 2026.
A great first day overall, and students have settled in really well.

Our VCE Unit 1 Art Creative Practice students have just finished completing their final artworks for the semester. These artworks express the self/ are an expression of their identity, inspired by the art practices of Egon Schiele, Tschabalala Self and Dylan Mooney. It’s fantastic to see such a range of art styles and techniques.

Our year 9, 10 & 11’s had the chance to visit our senior subject expo in preparation for subject selections for 2027. They got to hear from current teachers and students to help them make informed decisions about their pathways and future in the VCE or VCE VM here at RHS. It was a fantastic sight to see as our students start to plan for their future!!

We were so pleased to welcome the Reverb team from the Centre for Multicultural Youth (CMY) for a wellbeing incursion with our Year 8 students. Through engaging, peer-led workshops, students explored topics including mental health, wellbeing, help-seeking, and supporting one another. The sessions encouraged open and meaningful conversations, helping students build confidence, strengthen connections, and develop a greater understanding of the supports available to them and their peers.

This week is National Reconciliation Week (27 May – 3 June) 🖤❤️💛
This year’s theme is All In — a call for all Australians to commit wholeheartedly to reconciliation, every day. Reconciliation is not something we watch from the sidelines. It is built through learning, listening, respect and action.
At Richmond High School, we acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we learn and work, and pay our respects to Elders past and present. We recognise the importance of creating a school community grounded in respect, understanding and inclusion for all.
As a school community, we are committed to continuing the journey of reconciliation together.

Our Year 10 RHS boys recently participated in a Man Cave workshop, engaging in meaningful conversations around identity, empathy, communication and respectful relationships.
We were incredibly proud of the way our students represented themselves and our school throughout the program.
Programs like these play an important role in strengthening the respectful relationships work happening across our school community, helping students build greater self-awareness, connection and understanding of others.
A huge thank you to The Man Cave facilitators for creating such a positive and engaging experience for our students
