Holy Cross College, Ryde

At lunchtime, staff and students gathered to pray the rosary together while participating in a Eucharistic procession throughout the College grounds, celebrating the Feast of Corpus Christi and looking forward to the upcoming International Eucharistic Congress in Sydney in 2028.

Corpus Christi is a special celebration for Catholics around the world, honouring the mystery at the heart of our faith: that under the signs of bread and wine, Catholics believe Jesus Christ is truly present in the Eucharist, giving Himself completely for the life of the world.

Thank you to Fr. Steve, Br. Stephen, Br. Antonio, and all the staff and students whose dedication brought this beautiful event together, providing a powerful and inspiring public witness of faith to our entire school community

🏆⚽ 2026 SCS Football Conference Champions ⚽🏆

Congratulations to our Junior A and Junior B Football teams, who have been crowned 2026 SCS Conference Champions after outstanding campaigns throughout the season.

The success did not stop there, with our Junior AA Oztag team also claiming a Gold Medal, while our Intermediate Oztag team earned a well-deserved Bronze Medal after a strong tournament performance.

A special mention must go to our Intermediate Football team, who fought courageously all the way to the Grand Final before narrowly falling short in a heartbreaking penalty shootout. The team represented the College with pride, determination and sportsmanship throughout the competition.

The College is incredibly proud of all players, coaches and staff involved. These achievements are a testament to the hard work, commitment and team-first culture that continues to drive sporting excellence at Holy Cross College Ryde.

We now wish our Junior A Football team all the very best as they begin their campaign in the Sydney Championships. We look forward to supporting the boys as they take on the best teams across the city.

Patrician Cup & Junior Touch Football Success

It was a successful day for Holy Cross College at both the Patrician Cup and Junior Touch Football competitions, with our students representing the College with pride, determination and sportsmanship.

A special congratulations to our Junior Soccer team, who were crowned Junior Soccer Champions at the Patrician Linked Schools Gala Day. The team displayed excellent skill, teamwork and resilience throughout the day to secure a well-deserved victory.

🏉 NSW Touch Football Finals Success! 🏉

Special congratulations to our Year 9/10 Touch Football team, who today defeated St Augustine’s College Brookvale 3–1 in the NSW Touch Football Finals. The boys displayed outstanding skill, teamwork and determination to claim a well-deserved victory.

Our Junior Touch Football team also represented the College with great pride, enjoying a strong day of competition before narrowly falling to St Augustine’s 3–2 in a closely contested match.

Both teams demonstrated the values of Holy Cross through their commitment, sportsmanship and resilience throughout the tournament.

Touch football excellence and Holy Cross truly go hand in hand. Congratulations to all players and coaches on a fantastic achievement. 💛

Our young men at Holy Cross College have leaped into an incredibly active and rewarding start to the year within the PDHPE faculty. From academic examinations and collaborative class presentations to embarking on dynamic new learning units, our students are thriving.

Out on the courts, they have been mastering various net and court games designed to foster team spirit, physical well-being, and strategic thinking. This balanced approach to physical education ensures our boys are continually engaged, motivated, and challenged to achieve their personal best.
We are incredibly proud of how our young men have embraced both the academic and physical aspects of the PDHPE programme.

2026 Cadet Passing Out Parade

On Tuesday 23 June, Holy Cross College will proudly host the 2026 Cadet Passing Out Parade, a special occasion recognising the dedication, commitment and leadership of our cadets.

The parade marks the culmination of another successful year in the Australian Army Cadet program and provides an opportunity to celebrate the growth, achievements and service of our young leaders. Through their participation, cadets have developed valuable skills in teamwork, resilience, discipline and leadership that will serve them well into the future.

We look forward to gathering as a community to honour the efforts of our cadets and acknowledge the positive contribution they make to both the College and the wider community.

Deanery Afternoon 2026 | “One Sudden Crisis Away”

On Friday, Holy Cross College proudly hosted the first Deanery Afternoon of the year, bringing together 74 students from Holy Cross College Ryde, Marist Sisters’ College Woolwich and Marist College Eastwood to explore the 2026 Vinnies Winter Appeal theme, “One Sudden Crisis Away.”

Through a thought-provoking presentation led by Sydney Catholic Youth, students deepened their understanding of homelessness and reflected on their call to service. They were challenged to consider not only the good things they do, but also the kind of people they are becoming, recognising that service provides an opportunity to encounter Christ and grow more Christ-like in their daily lives.

The afternoon also provided a wonderful opportunity for students to connect with like-minded peers through group discussions, hands-on activities and prayerful reflection.

Thank you to all students and staff who contributed to such a meaningful afternoon. We look forward to continuing these connections and collaborating with our neighbouring schools at the next Deanery Afternoon in Term 3.
