Harvested, inspected, taste tested and declared delicious!
Our little gardeners have been tending this patch for months and today was the payoff. Turns out vegetables taste better when you grow them yourself !

EASTER CELEBRATIONS🐣💛
The children proudly took part in our Easter hat parade, showing off the beautiful hats their families had put so much effort into creating. Thank you to all our parents for making it so special!
We had lots of fun during our Easter egg hunt too! Plenty of excitement, smiles and happy little feet running around! 🐰🥚
SETTING UP THE WORM FARM 🪱
The children helped set up a new worm farm in our outdoor area, exploring soil, food scraps and worms with so much curiosity and excitement.
This looked to support their understanding of caring for living things, recycling food waste and building respect for nature as we continue to grow their awareness of sustainability.
Global Recycling Day ♻️
As part of Global Recycling Day, the children participated multiple activities that helped introduce the concept of recycling !
The discussion encouraged children to think about caring for the environment and how everyday materials can be reused in creative ways.
Snake Beans Harvest = Lunch !
The children proudly harvested fresh snake beans from our garden, after weeks of watching them grow ! After harvesting, our centre cook prepared the beans and the children got to enjoy what they helped grow.
At Smallworld, we love hands-on experiences that connect children to nature. From garden to plate, it was a lesson in responsibility, healthy eating and teamwork.
Balance act (in the making) !!! 👣
Today the children used plastic stepping stones to practise careful steps, steady bodies and slow and strong movement.
This fun challenge builds balance, coordination and confidence one step at a time!

At It’s a Small World Childcare, we love activities that invite calm focus and hands-on discovery!!!
Today the children:
• 🧩 tackled puzzles — matching shapes and pictures to build visual discrimination and problem-solving
• ✏️ practised writing numbers — tracing, saying and forming symbols to connect quantity with numerals
• 🔵 explored cylinder sorting — lifting, comparing and grading sizes to refine touch, coordination and concentration
These classic Montessori experiences nurture independence, fine-motor control, early maths readiness and sustained attention!!!
☀️🕰️ Morning Group time!!!
Each day begins with group time, where the children gather with their educators to chat about the day and date, look outside to name the weather, and decide what we’d wear for it.
We sing a few songs, share a story, and set gentle intentions for the day. We love this morning routine because “the way you start your day determines how well you live your day.”
