Our outdoor environment invites children to connect deeply with the natural world. Surrounded by real trees, natural elements and open spaces, children are offered opportunities to explore, investigate and make discoveries at their own pace.

Through carefully curated natural provocations, the environment becomes the “third teacher,” encouraging curiosity, creativity and meaningful learning. Sticks become tools for building, leaves inspire imagination, and every corner of the garden offers a new possibility for inquiry.

Big feelings, kind hearts and curious minds!
This week we focused on emotional understanding, recognising feelings, repairing friendships, and learning how to “make up” after conflict.

Through painting, sensory play, clay exploration, and ocean-inspired experiences, children strengthened their empathy, early numeracy skills, scientific thinking, and creativity.

Social and emotional learning continues to be at the heart of everything we do here at Apple Blossoms South Melbourne!

Our nursery children dived right in exploring flour, paint and glue with their hands, eyes and curiosity leading the way!
