Why VIMEO is best for remote learning?
Most people have watched video on Youtube and never on Vimeo.
Vimeo History. Vimeo was started many years ago with the intention of creating a high quality video platform that was add free for the creative film making community. Yes add free. If you have watched Youtube recently with adds popping up any and very moment this feature is essential for any school video.
VImeo is a user pays system. There are however many films made available for free on the Vimeo platform and they remain add free. The revenue model is based on Pay Per View. (PPV) The public has been reluctant to embrace PPV except in environments like classrooms. Yes teachers and schools are remunerated for the sessions provided. PPV is the inevitable exstension of school in the remote learning environment. Schools cant allow a random advertisment to contaminate their lessons.
Vimeo is the preferred video hosting platform of professional film makers. Since the early days Vimeo have engineered the highest quality platform for sound and picture. Yes the competitors have rebuilt their systems from time to time and any platform may be able to claim certain features.
The important thing is that the VIMEO brand identifies itself as the brand for professional filmmakers and engineers. its missions to integrate with the professional camera and electronic equipment taught in universities. This is the big difference and its a leap apart.
Ask any undergraduate about VImeo and they will tell you that it is the meeting place for professional film makers. It goes without saying that you will find many more professionally made videos on the Vimeo platorm. The highest level of Film Quality is essential for remote educators.

This is an amazing resource that makes transitive and intransitives a sinch, particularly acquiring a vocabulary.
If you know The LIttle Red Hen story:
Hen "Who is going to plant the wheat." (VT) dare ga komugi wo ueru ka.
Lazy Hen "Not I the wheat can plant itself." (VI) ie komugi ga uwaru.
(Also note the conjugation pattern
'end' oeru/ owaru
'plant' ueru/ uwaru
(These patterns come out clearly in the film. It is a very handy learning resource to teach students to remember which ones are transitive and then get the grammar and particle right. The result is a higher level of ability to translate and understand Japanese.)
Students can watch this video at any age from 3 yo upwards and the benefit will snowball.
The hens carry on like this throughout their lives, cleaning the house, in the bird bath etc. The movie is essential for students needing an A Level e grammar level.
I used to teach.
Please invite your colleages to watch it and see what a useful set of lessons it is.
