Today our children enjoyed preparing, cooking and eating some yummy cookies for "Bake the Blues Away Day"!

Cooking is fantastic experience for toddlers and preschoolers as it transforms meal prep into play, teaching critical life skills. It seamlessly boosts cognitive development through counting and measuring, refines motor skills through stirring and pouring, and encourages picky eaters to try new foods by giving them a sense of ownership.

Today our children all celebrated World Ocean Day through so many amazing hands on activities as they learnt the importance of keeping our oceans clean, healthy and safe!

Using natural materials in early childhood education offers numerous benefits for children’s development and learning. The natural environment provides a rich sensory experience through complexity in shapes, textures and colours, encouraging children to engage with the world around them in meaningful ways. When experimenting with natural materials, children are empowered creatively to construct, manipulate and transform their creations independently, reinforcing the importance of loose parts play.

National Simultaneous Storytime 2026 - Luna Roo 🦘⚽️

Yesterday we celebrated National Simultaneous Storytime Here at Papilio Bella Vista 🤩

All of our rooms enjoyed this year’s featured story, Luna Roo. It was wonderful to see children engaging in shared reading experiences, building a love for books, and connecting through storytelling alongside thousands of others across Australia.

Moments like these highlight the joy of literacy, imagination, and community in early childhood. We loved seeing the children’s curiosity, participation, and excitement throughout the day.
