&&& *SAVE* this hack for autonomous writers 👀

If students need the teacher to tell them every better word, stronger sentence, or more descriptive idea, they’ll never develop the skills to improve their own writing.

That’s why I love how has these supports readily available for students 💛

✨ Vocabulary boxes
✨ Show Don’t Tell charts
✨ Sentence boosters

Instead of asking, “Is this good?” students have the tools to reflect, revise, and strengthen their writing independently.

That’s the goal: not just better writing, but writers who know how to improve their own work. 🥹

Comment HANDOUT 👀

🙋🏼‍♀️Can I be honest with you for a bit?

😬I use to *DREAD* when parents would ask me ‘What
more can I do to help my child with their
comprehension?’

🫣I found myself saying “ask them questions about
what they’re reading to you” knowing very well my
parents wouldn’t know which questions to ask

🧐I HAD to create something to make their lives easier
- a little cheat sheet linked to their child’s
comprehension goal!

😮‍💨A set of quality questions linked to all the
comprehension strategies all in one place

🙇🏼‍♀️Now?!

🥳I get excited after I give reports to parents and host
parent meetings because I LOVE to team up with my
class parents on their child’s goal!

💃Now when a parent asks me - I always refer them to
this little grid because the prompts are not only parent
friendly but aligned to the learning we are already
doing in class/my students are already use to!

🙌🏻YESSSS - extra comprehension practise at home!

Comment WRITE 👀

Can I admit something? 🙇🏼‍♀️

I used to panic when a student said, “I don’t know what to write.”

I’d rush over trying to think of an idea for them… then another… then another 😮‍💨

But eventually I realised the problem usually wasn’t that they had nothing to write about.

The problem was that the cognitive load of planning, generating ideas, remembering sounds, spelling words and writing sentences all at once felt HUGE.

So I created these Writing Booster Books 🥹

A Science of Reading aligned tool that gives students the structure, support and inspiration they need to actually get started.

Instead of staring at a blank page, they have everything they need right in front of them 🙌🏼

⭐ Each template focuses on a target sound or spelling pattern

⭐ Three differentiated levels to support a range of learners

⭐ Cut and write activities

⭐ Labelling tasks

⭐ Sentence writing prompts

⭐ Free writing topics with key vocabulary support

⭐ Organised and ready to grab during literacy rotations

They’re one of the first things I put into my literacy tubs every year because they help turn “I don’t know what to write” into actual writing confidence 💜

One of my best kept teacher secrets 🤭 YOU’RE WELCOME

Tell me why I haven’t seen anyone sharing about this one yet!!

This ONE page has become my go to whenever I need instant engagement for a quick brain break😮‍💨

Just choose a puzzle → project it → watch the magic happen 👏

My students are OBSESSED and usually run the show as a little team collaboration moment!

I use it for:
⭐️ morning work
⭐️ transitions
⭐️ brain breaks
⭐️ early finishers
⭐️ those random spare minutes before recess

And the best part?

The puzzles automatically adapt to different skill levels, so every student can join in without you creating multiple versions 😭

The amount of times I’ve heard “Can we do one more?” during fruit break is honestly ridiculous 😂

This page is one of the many hidden gems on the Twinkl Teaching Resources - Australia website - which you can try for free with a 30 day trial!!

👉🏻 Comment ❤️ or HEART and I’ll send you the link

Can I share a heart word secret? 🤫

They aren’t meant to be taught at random 💜

A Science of Reading approach means explicitly teaching irregular spelling patterns in a logical sequence, not just following a sight word list.

And when your students finally start noticing the regular and irregular parts of words for themselves?

That’s everything 😭

That’s exactly what this guide helps you do 🥹 (without the guesswork!!)

Guided heart words in action via 🥰 Thank you for sharing!

Either way…Comment MEETING and I’ll send you both versions 😍

😞Confession: I use to DREAD meeting with parents…

🥵I’d feel flustered and worried about not coming across professional or that I’d forget what I wanted to talk about.

🙋🏼‍♀️Who can relate?

Seriously - give me a room full of kids over adults any
day 🤣

But then I realised I was OVERTHINKING IT - as per usual 🙇🏼‍♀️ and I really DO know my students (AND SO DO YOU!)

🥳After all - meetings should be a time to CELEBRATE all of your students’ growth with their families!

💃With a little bit of structured note prep, I go into meetings SO CONFIDENT now!

👇🏻How I approach them:
⭐️ Address any urgent questions/concerns
⭐️ Current Skills & Goals in Math and English
⭐️ Current Skills & Goals in other areas to note
⭐️ Current Skills & Goals for their Social Wellbeing
⭐️ Ways we can work together at home & at school to
support them!

🙌🏻THIS🙌🏻 winning formula has me actually excited for
meeting prep and I created this template to keep me
on track! How do you run yours?

Send this to someone who makes others feel cared for 🤍✨

The people who check in.
Who notice the quiet ones.
Who make others feel safe, included and supported without even realising it 💭

The ones who give so much of themselves to others every single day 🫶🏼

Especially teachers.

Because caring is such a huge part of this job… even when it goes unnoticed.

So this is your reminder to let someone know the way they love and care for others matters 🤍✨

Tag or send this to someone who deserves to feel appreciated today 💌

Happy world caring day sweet friends 🫶🏼
