The children are fascinated by the seed germination process. They have loved all our activities which have strengthened their fine motor skills and hand eye coordination. Learning about seeds and plants connects the children to earth and nature, teaches them patience and responsibility and strengthens their confidence and learning skills. How fabulous does our new construction corner look? Learning about construction and building is fun and studies have reported very strong links between spatial skills, awareness, and construction play. Construction toys and play environments help strengthen creative thinking, motor and spatial skills as well as communication skills.

The weather is gorgeous in Sydney and we have being enjoying so many wonderful activities outdoors. The children have been gardening which teaches them about sustainability and their their environment. Gardening is calming for the children, develops their self confidence and is great fun.

Happy Early Childhood Educators’ Day to all our wonderful teachers at The Prep School in Double Bay. Today we celebrate all of you who are committed to the wellbeing and healthy development of our precious children in your care. Thank you for all your hard work and dedication.

The award winning book The Gruffalo is such a hit with the children. This wonderful book engages children on multiple levels. Combining movement and story telling strengthens motor skills snd language ability. The repetitive structure of this delightful book make it easy for the children to chime in, use their imagination, and understand that might doesn’t always make right. Science experiments provide numerous benefits for children’s development. Science experiments are fun and spark curiosity and they strengthen communication and collaborative skills. In addition, Science experiments engage the children in problem solving and analytical skills. Just look at these curious and cheerful faces. It has been such a fascinating time learning about the solar system with the children.
